Well everyone. This will be my last post on the website. I have given up A&AM. I have sold off my set and maps.
I just want to say that for the past 200 posts it has been interesting... everything from 3000 post man to Mr. Danyel Phelps who has a tendency to be removed from online discussion... Google his name... good stuff.
anyways, keep on playing if you enjoy the game.
I'm going to go outside and enjoy the game up here in Northern Saskatchewan!
Good hunting!

Northern Saskatchewan... Must have had problems to find other players... "population density" is not a defining feature of Saskatchewan; as for the northernmost part, I guess it must be quite lower than Alaska...

I suspect Jiminy is voting with his dollar not to support something that requires too much investment for too little return. Short of houserules, it's all we can do as consumers.
Sorry to see ya go. Have a blast outdoors! I know I can't wait for summer to come (too bad it only lasts 3 months here hehe :( )

I agree. After seeing the stats for the bofors and the 82mm PM32 Mortar, I am beginning to get doubts about this game myself. True, I haven't played a game using the original cards for many months now, but I have found that there are players who will only play with them (unsurprisingly enough, they want to play the Allies). But I am finding it harder and harder to justify spending a minimum of $240 for a couple of cases just for a half dozen units that may be worth playing with.
Even the quality of the units are falling. More and more of them are being made with plain brown or green wrappers and use the incorrect models on there cards. Not to mention that the game is obviously designed so that the Allies will win.
As I write this, I feel that this game too, will go the way of Mechwarrior, Pirates of whatever, and Starwars, to name just a few. Set III may well be my last set.
I've been close to tossing it all myself so I fully understand anybody calling it quits, yet it's always sad to a fellow boarder go.....
Anyway, Good luck and happy gaming j fatal ..... whatever that game may be!

The only aspect I really dont like about this game is the fact allies are set up to win. Then again I consider myself pretty good Ive been undefeated for my past 3 or 4 games :D! I usally play Axis! Pirates game. I dont think that game is too bad or dead. They just played a tournament and they had like 10 people playing. No games besides just board games in general ever get that many players...
He obviously didnt state his intentions of reason for it might start a war or something. Joisey, he may not have quit because he doesnt like the game maybe its all the money hes spent into it he doesnt want to keep spending.

I'm thinking: ok, its all fine and good, house rules and all, but sheesh, why should the consumer be forced to make his own rules? I mean, take classic axis and allies, sure, there has been a lot of spinoffs, but all of those were only in the good fun of trying something new. Here, we are nearly FORCED to make our own rules. Axis and Allies is a classic in boardgaming. Will AAM become a classic in miniature gaming?

The reason he left was not the way the game was design. He stated in another thread, that in his region he was alone, playing with his wife, that was not so interested in the game.
You can get all the AAM unit you want, if no players comes around... What is the reason to spend more on this game. Poor him...
