I don't know about the French partisans. It's not like they were taking on the Whermacht or anything...just sneaking around doing some vandalism here and there.

Cutting phone lines and blowing up rail lines....like I said, vandalism.
But they weren't engaging Whermacht troops in set piece battles like the Yugoslav partisans did.

Does anyone think the US will finally get a machinegun team?
Someone mentioned it was in set III, but I didn't see it on the complete list.

By what I've read Polish and Jewish partisans ambushed the Germans not uncommonly and attacked them in established positions sometimes in coordinated efforts w/ other partisan units. Sure they vandalized, but they did alot more. Alot of the equipment they took came from the spoils of their battles.
First-hand accounts. Here's two if you're interested.
The Warriors by Harold Zissman
War in the Shadow of Auschwitz by John Wiernicki
I'll grant you they didn't, to my knowledge, engage armor.

Not a machinegun team, a machinegun antiaircraft unit, Quad 50.
Here it is on a trailer
http://www.robertsarmory.com/quad.jpg
Rather a versatile unit, it could be towed as is behind a halftrack or truck, taken off the trailer and mounted on a halftrack or secured in the bed of a 2.5 ton truck still on the trailer.
Attack stats should be similar, but slightly inferior to, the Wirbelwind but will probably be a Soldier - Artillery unit instead of a vehicle mount. The M3 Halftrack mounted version was designated the M16.

Nice, they went with the Half-track version.
Should fit right into a Russian OOB to fill their AA needs, the Russians had a tendency to mount a bunch of machineguns on anything that could move under its own power for local AA defense and I wouldn't be surprised if we sent them a bunch of M16s under Lend Lease.

I would like to add to the many good ideas presented (I specially like the Firefly, 88 and german paratroopers) -may I add also british AND polish paratroopers?- some of the "funnies" -crab, bobbin...- the special tanks used by the british 79th division for landings (also the Sherman DD or even the DUKW, useful for river crossings). I would like also some on-board OR OFF BOARD artillery.
I do not think that landing crafts themselves should be added, but we DO need new maps for beaches and others...
