1. Just a short thought:
If you attack with just a fighter/bomber against a territory with an infantry you have good chance of winning. But are there any meaning of doing this? I mean you cant capture the area with a fighter/bomber.

2. If aircrafts are the only surviving units in combat are they allowed only to get to the closest friendly zone or can they use all "remaining" steps to fly to any friendly zone?

Nearly the same question as number 2.
3. Example: A bomber that has made ALL 6 steps to get to combat. (or 4 step fighter)
What happens if that airunit is the only survivor in combat? Are the airunits allowed to move to get to a friendly territory or do they CRASH. Does it has to return to the CLOSEST friendly territory? Or are they even not allowed in that battle?

4. Maybe I donīt get the sub rules either. But they seem to be strange.
Sea units: "They cannot move through hostile sea zones except when it consist of only submerged submarines." p. 21 Ok this can happen if a sub submerge during combat phase.
BUT later in the manual I read p.21 "At the end of this phase (NCM), all submerged submarines resurface"
So HOW can there even be a submerged submarine affecting the second players turn if all submarines resurface at end of the first players?

5. Can AA guns be counted as a unit (to casualty zone) and removed from play during combat?

Thank you in advance.

The only reason to do this is to destroy the infantry unit, since you cannot capture a territory with only air units.

2. If aircrafts are the only surviving units in combat are they allowed only to get to the closest friendly zone or can they use all "remaining" steps to fly to any friendly zone?

Attacking air units can use their remaining movement to return to a friendly territory or carrier. Defending air units in a naval battle are allowed to move one space to a friendly territory or carrier. If one does not exist, the fighters are destroyed.

An air unit may not use all of its movement to get to combat. It must have enough movement remaining to return to a friendly territory or carrier, or the move is illegal. So if the closest friendly space is 2 spaces from the combat, a bomber can move a maximum of 4 spaces to get there, saving 2 for the return trip. The only time a fighter may use all 4 moves to get to a battle is when it is a sea battle and a friendly carrier is or will be in the sea zone by the end of non-combat movement.

It can't - this only refers to non-combat movement during the turn on which the sub submerged.

5. Can AA guns be counted as a unit (to casualty zone) and removed from play during combat?

No.

Thanks, Hobart. IMHO, DS9 was tied with the original as the best of the Treks!

I agree. DS9 was also the most dramatic and suspenseful trek series.

I also think you're right about sedating female passengers. They'll tell you up and down what you're doing wrong, but won't make any suggestions on how to fix it. Kinda like liberals... ;) just kidding! :D

I used to call Janeway "Captain Gilligan" because every time there was a possibility of the ship getting home she would find a way to screw it up!

That's better than mine. I called her Captain Winston because it always sounded like she just got done smoking a pack.

I mean you cant capture the area with a fighter/bomber.I've used the tactic before when having to control multiple countries (like, buth Axis for example, but also when playing 2 or all of the Allies). It's usefulness comes from not being in a position to actually take a territory with, we'll say Japan in this example, because your ground units aren't in range to get there, but Germany does have ground units in range. So, use the aircraft to "plow the row" so to speak, then allow your ally to mop up on their turn.

As for the Star Trek comments:
TNG and DS9 were my favorites, I'd have to say. I still love the original. Couldn't really get into Voyager except on occasion, and just really don't care for Enterprise all that much (too bad, too, because I love Scott Bakula in Quantum Leap). I'll admit DS9 started slow, in my opinion, but man did it pick up steam, esp. the last 2 seasons w/ the Dominion War.

Now, Babylon 5: that was an awesome show!

Everybody knows that Enterprise is a prequal, and they didn't have propoganda officers until counselor Troi! ;)
