RECON 06 Convention in Tampa FL.

Wargame Convention Event:
RECON 2006 - April 28-30th, Busch Gardens Comfort Inn, Tampa Florida. The Hotel is on the corner of Busch Blvd and Nebraska Ave, directly off the interstate.
If you can make it, Go. Lots of Wargames and Board gameing. Check out the info at: www.Hmgs-south.com
I attended for the first time in September (Hurricon 05), it was awesome. Every conferance room and Table space in the Hotel was earmarked for Tabletop games, 9am-12 pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday til 6pm. Many of the players stay at the hotel and the staff of Hmgs-South were excellent hosts.
Plenty to do and see.

I'll be at Recon as I'm vacationing in Newport Richey that weekend. is there an A&A Miniatures event planned?

Great, I'm happy to hear you can go to RECON. As far as I know there is game scheduled for Sunday Morning from 9am-1PM. I don't think it's a tournament, but anything can break out at the convention. There are many games that just start up all hours of the day and night. The schedule for gameing is 9am-12midnight Friday-Sunday til-6pm. I was at the last convention and the range of miniatures games was amazing. The Hotel is easy to find on the corner of Nebraska and Busch blvd.

Dang, I've been to Recon a couple of times but it always seems to sneak up on me. Just joined HMGS South and will hopefully be better informed in the future. Will have to get Hurricon down on my calender asap. Thanks for the heads up.

Sorry I dont know of any local game stores that have events. There are going to be Axis and Allies Mini's games on Saturday also, according to the RECON game schedule on the HMGS-South site. I'm going to bring my Memoir44 game also and hope to play some of the scenarios from the expansion set Eastern Front.

I'm debating.... I would love to pop over with my son, but he's in the doghouse at the moment, getting a little lazy with his schoolwork (4.0 honors student, but thinks that he can get away without doing all of his work kinda thing). I might only be able to get over Sunday morning.

I've just got to remember to put these events on my calender for the future so I can plan around them.
