Naval Battle Question

Well, Axis_Roll and I played our first game Friday night and we ran into an interesting naval question.

If there are defending subs in a naval battle (With no attacking Destroyers or subs), it looks like the defending subs fire in the opening fire sequence and remove casualities before the attacker even attacks.

That doesn't sound right?

that is correct.

odd that you guys didn't get the grasp of subs. Its been a major change.

ALL subs fire in the Opening Fire sequence Defender + Attacker

THEN the combat continues with attacker units (minus the subs) ....then the defender returns fire (minus the subs)

basically the subs get their own sequence.
