View Full Version : Question: Transports
If I have a transport in the sea zone (SZ) between UK and Norway. Is it possible for me to make an amphibious assault every combatmove by bridging?
For example: Can I load one INF + artillery and directly after that (in the same combatmove) offload into hostile Norway?
I move one SZ with my transport (from SZ 19 to 18)
I load INF + Tank in brazil and then move the transport to SZ 17. Can I make an amphibious assault on French West Africa during the same combatmove? Is this type of movement legal?
Can a transport load, then move TWO SZ and offload during the same CM or NCM?
Please help me.

1) Bridging- yes you may load/unload combat forces same turn for amphib assault.
2) Move-with a seperate transport from #1- yes you may move one space, load transport, move one space, offload for amphib assault.
3) yes a transport may load, move two spaces, offload and amhib assault. Or may load, move, offload to reinforce friendly territory ;)

I have a two new transport question: During the combat move phase can a transport move into a sea zone that contains an enemy transport? It seems like you could, but it would be suicide. I could see how it might be usefull if you had two transports coming from different sea zones, and wanted them to both be in the same spot, then it might be worth the risk. Also, during the non-combat move phase it says on page 21 that "Transports can move to friendly coastal territories and load or offload cargo, unless they moved during the combat move phase." that part is easy to understand but the next sentence says "Transports that have been in combat may either load or offload (not both) during this phase, but not if they have retreated from combat this turn." That seems to refer only to transports that were in a sea zone that an enemy sub submerged in, because they were in combat, but didn't make a combat move. Hopefully someone who can answer this is still reading. Thanks.

If anyone is confused I meant to say: During the combat move phase can a transport move into a sea zone that contains only an enemy transport?
Thanks.

Pfeffguy,
Yes, a transport can move into a SZ that is oocupied by only an enemy transport. Unfortunately, this results in a Naval combat and your transport has an attack value of 0 versus the defending transport at 1 so therefore your chances of any transports surviving the naval combat is exactly 0% (didn't have to use statistics on that one). IF you do that move you must take some combat units with you (destroyers, subs, bbs etc).
For the load/unload question it is thus:
If your transport did not make a combat move then it may now load, move, aand unload at this time. IF it was in a combat then it may only load or unload in a land territory that is adjacent to the SZ that it is in (where the combat was). IT may not load or unload if it has retreated from a combat.
