Now for Soldiers...

All things being equal, what is the best Soldier SA?

or

If you had to pick one, what SA would you have on your entire squad?

No "Hard Charger" up there?

Eliminating your own Disrupted Counters before Shooting / Being Shot is possibly the most powerful ability up there next to "Head Shot." It ranks right up with Covering Fire.

Yeah. "Fanatic" from the SS Hampsturmfuhrer accomplishes the same thing. Same thing, different name.

I say crack shot. +1 on dice rolls is nice, or head shot, disrupting a tank is sweet and is a bench mark to its death. I would say head shot for crackshot is a wider ability seen by more units then just one.

I'm going to have to go with Tally-ho. There are a lot of great SAs out there, but I mostly play large games 500-1000 pts on large maps (4x4, 4x6) and maneuverability is key. I love the speed and movement options that the Inspiring Lieutenant provides without having to invest heavily in transport vehicles, and in large games, I've got one or two driving every infantry force.

I guess the only other SA that I might rank higher that wasn't on the poll and no one mentioned is "Paratrooper". This takes maneuverability to another level, and I've got a force of 4 SE Captains and 12 SE Paratroopers that are always part of my core force when playing as the Allies.

Fanatic—This unit ignores face-up Disrupted counters.
Exert Will—At the beginning of your movement phase, remove all Disrupted counters from friendly Soldiers adjacent to this unit.
Hard Charger—At the end of your movement phase, remove any face-up Disrupted counters from this unit.

You might be thinking of Exert Will. Exert Will and Hard Charger actually remove disruption.

I really like Ruthless. Ruthless turns a soldier into an ice-cold killer! Second to that, I'd say Intimidation, because it turns a soldier into a wimp.

Angriff. Gives every friendly and adjacent soldier a close assault 'crackshot.'

Just ask the Pershing that got introduced to it via stormtrooper the other night in one of our games. It rocks.

Although I didn't vote for it, I really like 'covering fire' being able to prevent German MG's, AT guns, and SS-Panzergrenadiers from attacking can really help.

Picked fanatic this time. I think survivability is more important to the infantry.

I am going with Fanatic over Crack shot because you only get one per game.Units like the SS and SNLF fanatic are hard to kill without the disrupts.

Since there are several very good ones there, I tried to imagine which one I would consider most valuable for my soldier units if they had all of them. Fanatic is that choice not just to stay alive but because staying alive also allows you to put more firepower on the board.

I would say it's a toss up between Hard Charger and Exert Will. Hard Charger is great because it happens without outside influence and before the next attack phase. Exert Will is also good because it can affect so many units. Ruthless is a close third.

it's a tie between hard charger and crack shot

with hard charger its hard to keep a soldier down
especially since it doesn't need a commander
and crack shot, especially since i get a lot of 3s
in all of my rolls :D

-1 on enemy cover rolls is the second best IMHO (makes hunting in woods/hills/towns less random). But I will give my vote to the nefarious crackshot SA.

Actually, shouldn't the Haupsturmfuherer's Exert Will SA be up there on the poll? That's probably still one of the best all time soldier SA's.
