Hello all,

When I saw the April Fools joke on the WOTC page for the Atomic Terror set, I got a great laugh. Especially because I have been working on a variant that is somewhat similar in nature -- based on more of a fantasy setting.

My variant involves a Skeleton Army. The intent is that this army will fight either an Axis or Allies army. I have created 5 stat cards so far, using pieces from D&D and Mage Knight minis. Currently, the stats match exactly to some of my favorite Axis and Allies pieces. I plan to create some new SAs, homebrew maps, and some background story/scenarios. I'd also like to generate a solo-play version. Additionally, I plan to make new pieces such as ghost ships, etc.

I know this is not for everyone, especially since it seems that most folks here are pretty hardcore into the historical aspect of the game. However, perhaps there are a few out there who will enjoy this type of variant.

I seem to recall a previous post where someone mentioned a connection between the Germans and the Occult during WWII, and I'm hoping to create a scenario based on that aspect of the war.

This is not an April Fool's joke, it's just a variant to try out.

If anyone finds this interesting, or has other ideas on the topic, please let me know.

I'll post the stat cards I have so far.

Then you have to add a Sgt Rock Character to the variant.

Useing the Rhino as guide, a Ghost tank would be perfect!

As long as you don't go beyond what is on an existing card to keep the power level balanced, I think you can make an excellent spoof of the game.

Try getting away from the naming and try a new name.
Maybe,
Axis & Evils ???

The "Haunted Tank" was a M3 Grant

Haha nice.

Though I was thinking instead of having the armys from AAM battle these fantastic mythical armies, how about create a Scenario or series of units based around German units in which Nazi Archaeologist have tapped into Occult/Demonic powers.

Sort of like the stuff we see in Indiana Jones or PC games like Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

Undead/Re-animated Nazi soldiers, mummys (for the north africa campaign :D ) and assorted other baddies (Skeletons are a good idea). I just think it would be cool if the idea was that these monsters came from people tapping into "evil" powers of expirements gone horribly wrong.

Good stuff.

I did the Nazi Undead, with a haunted "Loki" [Gear Kreig] in a D20 Modern Game.

I wouldn't mind using a re-animated german soldier, especially for swarming kinda tactics. I like that kinda super natural idea.

This isn't my cup of tea, but I have to say it's a really creative idea. Has anyone thought of maybe doing the same sort of thing with aliens from some of the sci-fi movies from 50 years ago - like "War of the Worlds", "Day the Earth Stood Still" - that sort of thing?

Robb,
did you know that 'Atomic Terror' wasn't 100% joke? There have been rules published for such scenarios last halloween - I wonder if they got the idea for this fake set from my request at DDM -boards a week ago... I asked them to make miniatures rules for airplanes too now that AAM has them :)

Of course the whole thing is partially joke, but I believe it's really fun to play. I haven't tried yet, but I surely will!

Here's the scenario:

Sweet! I think that would be fun to try out. The more and more I think of a theme of crazy Nazi experiemnts making Monsters that go mad through out the world or something sounds fun. I should try that. Somehow I got to bring all my old DnD minis to the game store or invite someone over to play it. :D Im so glad I did not throw them all away!

The Custom Maps crew will be coming out with Stalingrad, There cities were cool but I never got the France map for we already have a France 44 looking map. So imagine Stalingrad with Monsters!!! Or how about play a Operation Blau game or something or just Stalingrad scenrio on the map and the winner then has to face monsters that formed from some chemicals or fuel explosion. :D

Now that Im not sure if all ever do but playing that other game sounds fun.
