To bad we can't put this in a halftack.
Maybe.....
SA: Half track mount: If you've purchased this unit and a vehicle with the sa "fighting platform" you can declare at deployment that the quad 50 cannon is mounted inside the vehicle. During the game the vehicle loses the ability to transport other soldiers but gains the attacking characteristics of the quad 50 cannon(instead of it's normal attack).

I was really hoping that we would get a Halftrack with Quad 50 unit. :(

Can you wait until Junish?

I coupled the two units last week and posted them in Modeling 101 and House rules forum. Check out my posts for some interesting reading.

The Quad-50 Halftrack sounds cool, but it all depends on the pricing. The Wirbelwind is clearly not worth 19 points, even if you know your opponent is fielding aircraft.
But given the American 'discount' the Quad-50 halftrack will probably end up at 13 points...

But you forgot the 20% US discount (rounded up) making the final cost 10 points.
That would be silly giving a weapon system half track transport for free, so we'll make it 11...
BTW, nice bash FNG. I was thinking of doing the same thing. I just wish the units were properly scaled (the halftrack is too small or the quad too big).

FNG's Mod definately looks great. I purchased several more halftracks, but am still waiting on my quad 50s in my 2 cases before I can do some mods.
Since I don't have my quad 50 card yet, can anyone tell me it's points?
I'd like to analyse the data on both cards before I decide how I will calculate the points. But I like DerickRL's concept for use so far.

The Quad 50 is 10 points. Darn good for what it can do...

You could always take a Halftrack and a Lufwaffe infantry at 17 pts ;)

The name for that unit was actually the M16. I found it originally playing an old video game named "Allied General" - the Allied spinoff of Panzer General. It's not a bad unit. Pretty lethal aircover and great anti-infantry in that game. Got tore up by armor though. I look forward to that unit being in later A&AM sets.
