Aircraft and Armor Defense Ratings

Just a few basic questions:

1.If an aircraft were to attack an armored unit with, for instance a 5/3 armor rating, in the same hex, would the aircraft attack the rear armor?

2. If an aircraft were NOT in the same hex, would the facing of the tank and the side from which an aircraft approaches have any bearing on which defense rating is used (frontal vs. rear)?

1. Attacks in the same hex always target the rear defense.

2. If the plane and the target Vehicle are not in the same hex, then facing is determined the same as it would be in any other case. There's no special exception for Aircraft.
