View Full Version : VOTE: Giving Subs a Chance to Submerge

Subs may roll for an immediate submerge check in the initial combat round and avoid combat by rolling a 3 or less (4 or less for supersubs). Enemy destroyers prevent subs from making this initial submerge check. Subs that attempt and fail the immediate submerge check may defend normally, but forfeit their "first strike" bonus. Subs may submerge normally per the rules in any subsequent rounds.

Yes, as suggested - or anything to make subs a bit more threatening! They are still much too vulnerable to being bounced in eg mid atlantic by bombers and even fighters.

Maybe a simple modifier to air attacks at sea on all types of shipping would be an improvement ie next step down on chart for attacking aircraft.

Why? Seas and oceans are vast, and aircraft have low chances of sighting and little time in the air. Also reflects weather issues re aircraft.

Limited rounds/cycles of fire for aircraft which are not carrier-based might also work.

no, it's a game balance issue. If you change anything put a limit of the number of subs a destroyer can rob of special abilities.
