I picked up a copy of The Standard Guide to U.S. World War II Tanks & Artillery by Konrad F. Schreir, Jr. recently, and I have to say it's a pretty decent source. It covers tanks, light tanks, armored cars, half tracks, artillery, super-heavy artillery, mortars, rocket artillery, tracked landing vehicles, artillery ammunition and fire control, and more.

All illustrations are official US Armed Service photos or drawings from WWII. The author also served during the war.

Sweet! Thanks for the reference. I infer this is the source of your post about the US 3" gun?

That, plus Osprey's US Tank and Tank-Destroyer Battalions, Osprey's M4(76mm) Sherman guide, and Osprey's M18 Hellcat guide.

For those who ae interested in the Eastern Front the book Slaughterhouse Handbook of the Eastern Front by David Glantz is good. I feel I cant personally say it is great for its my only Eastern Front dedicated book besides google and armchairgeneral magazines. Yet in WWII History magazine, Military History Magazine, and ArmChair General magazine all have said its a great book, I trust their opinions on it

I have to say Battles of the Medival World is a great book I found at Barnes and Noble about Medival battles, its onsale too. :D
