Welcome Generals!

I want to do a little analysis for Set IV now that we know a few and know of a few more units.

First Installment:

NUMBERS

From the past sets I compiled the average number of units each country gets.

France 2 - 3 total 5 - average (in the Sets it appeared) - 2,5
USSR 4 8 8 = 20 - 6,67
UK 9 4 5 = 18 - 6
USA 10 7 8 = 25 - 8,33
Germany 15 10 12 = 37 - 12,33
Italy 2 1 2 = 5 - 1,67
Japan 6 7 4 = 17 - 5,67

From these numbers I would predict the following distribution

Canada 2
France 2
USSR 7
UK 6
USA 8
ALLIES 25
Germany 12
Italy 2
Japan 6
AXIS 20

That is the number if I would not know more, but as we know that it is a set called D-Day, I would modifiy this numbers a bit. Additionally we get generic items for the first time.

I would assume that we get 3 generic items (a pill box, a tank trap were announced - a third piece is likely - more I doubt). so I have to subtract these generic items from the units some countries get. As it is D-Day I think it would be an easy bet to drop a Soviet and a Japanese Unit. As the alklies normaly get 25 units (compared to the Axis 20), I will drop another item from the Allies. But where: UK US and Canada each had their great part inD-Day so 6-8-2 seems to be not far away- unit for France ?? - possible, but I think we need at least a resistance fighter and a common soldier/specialist (MG, AT gun, mortar - the latter I would like to see, or an rare). So I assume there will be 2 Russians dropped.

So the list might probably look:

Canada 2
France 2
USSR 5
UK 6
USA 8
ALLIES 23
Germany 12
Italy 2
Japan 5
AXIS 19
GENERIC 3

My predicted list I will put into the next post.

Please discuss.

THE LIST - the Bold are the ones we know (I think they fit in my guess just right), Italics are units we heard of, but not previewed, the rest is a blindfolded guess - I think the list will look different on Wednesday.

I think the list looks pretty decent really.

Perhaps this one :

10 – UK - Commando with Sten MP

Could look like 10 -UK - Defiant Commander (Hero)

Would be my own guess anyway :) ( and hope )

Lets see
41 – JP - 20cm Army Rocket or 75mm Type 88 AA Gun
OR
45 – JP - Type 4 Ho-Ro

Exchange at will with

4x - JP - Type 1 Ho-Ni III (75mm 88 cannon/flak)

:D :D :D

Hey man thanks for taking the effort and doing that list. I'm really curious how much % you're going to score. ( AAM real list / your list = the % )

good luck

Ow and I dare to bet money on the Germans getting a unit like the Hummel/wespe/other similar variant. For those unfamiliar, this is simply an artillery gun on a tank chassis.

Yes, i is the most realistic list to me until now.

Richter - My sources say there will be 3 Canadian units - soldier/tank/unkown.

If you asked me japan and russia should not get any. But since there will be some take out 3 russian units and give some to the australians. The take out a few japanese and give some more stuff to the Italains and Romanians.

But it is confirmed that ther e are NO Australians or Rumanians in the Set.

3 Canadians seems plausible - not sure if i should drop a french or another russian (but I think it will be the russian.

With Preview No. 4 my list is already void no 24+25 are US; Either we get the generic units somewhere between the UK or US (unlikely) or only the axis gets less units - resourceful unit seems to be the last US I assume. Maybe gebneric means only that a selectet number of nations can use the design (Landing craft for US/UK only use pilbox for GE/JP use...

They really shouldgive us a "generic" preview.

I will update the list later (maybe only after tomorrows previe as I just got urgent things to do ;))

I think your numbers distribution looks about right. I would suspect the Soviets and Japanese to lose some units. I was thinking that a M10 Wolverine would be a likely candidate for an uncommon vehicle in the D-Day set. IMHO, I disagree about the Japanese plane and the Italian AA. I bet the Germans get a spotter and an indirect fire arty too.

Updated - I assume the Spitfire is No 14 and the FW 28 - with the old cards we could read the numbers better...

Some concerns:

Hetzer
Marder
Jagdtiger

We get three German Tank Destroyers.

Where do the Announced Generic Units fit in - or do we only get two (between the Resourceful Hero and the FW 190 - or do the y fill the slots after the Axis (... Generic ?? -maybe) It seems that the Axis looses slote while the Allies keep theirs (No 25 is confirmed)

In about two weeks we will know for sure.

BTW Who can confirm this:

FO for Germany and Indirect fire unit??

A second plane for Germany??
