Soldiers and Vehicles

I beleive that WoTC/AH/Hasbro (WAH?) is trying very hard to get Soldiers to play a more decivisive roll in the game.

With defense 5 units appearing all over and superior Soldiers (Hero) rolling off the assembly line, it appears they want to give the All-Troop and mixed use combat a chance to win against the various Iron Curtain and Sherman Swarms.

I really don't mind the SuperHero (my BMW's are awesome at killing enemy troops on turn 1) and how he comes out. By proper pressing the enemy troops there remains the main ability to trap enemy units out of position on all but the most open of maps.

Mortars tear a new poop hole for most soldiers and US tanks rip them to shreads. The Sturmpanzer just screams for someone to come and get some.

I like the strong Soldier as a viable alternative for the soldier, but just wait to you see a sea of Cavalry from Russia with love or BMW's race to a hill top and bring in the reinforcements on turn 2. Turn 2 will see the BMW/Cavalry close into enemy guns while the defensive hex gets occupied by a friend Heavy Hitter (tank destroyer!). A 5/5 Ho-Ni is cheap and easy.

If you think the US Hero is tough, I want to see what a German Hero with SS H'Furher behind him and a Pak-40 next to him does to enemy morale.

Well, WotC will be uncomfortable with an SS-hero, cause they couldn't sell the game in germany anymore. Law is quite strict and that is the reason why you won't see any SS marks on any unit.

I have a funny story along those lines...

Back in December I was in Germany. During a day in Nurhemberg, I visited a gaming store and the guy there mentioned that. I walk outside heading towards "the wall" and ran into a group of younger people dressed like punks and one of them had the SS marking on his leather jacket.

There are some people at my school who have tattoos of swastikas and hitlers face. ( no I am not kidding ) to have pics of swastikas is one bad thing but to have hitlers face on your body... huh? But I have always been a fan of getting a tattoo that reads "your name here"

No. Stupid would be smart compared to getting a tatto of that. You would need to make up a new word for that.

That could very well be the case, but a true swarm won't be very viable with 100 pt. tournament games still limited to 15 units. Even 15 SS-PGs (most effective, efficient infantry in the game) only comes out to 75 points.

Then again, a true infantry swarm might be possible (yet very boring) once Set IV hits.

Although a AT Gun captain or a tank commander would make sense. If it has like 6/6 defense or Steely Resolve like the Aussies, then some yanks may be unhappy.

German heroes could have:
Tactical expertise: A commander gives all soldiers on field +1 attack die.
Blitz specialist: Sort of like the Tiger's overrun, but with +1 attack die.
Fight or die: (Defending against Soviet vengeance on the Eastern Front) Soldiers get +1 defense or no disruption if defending.

I use my moms ford focus. Starting college and only a part time job + a my plastimeth addiction kind of hard to buy my own car. I just pay half of my insurance and the gas that I use which is more than the insurance it self :(

If you mean 'Soldiers' as in Heros and the weapons they can make use of thus extending thier usefulness, I'd say yes. If you mean Soldiers as in more Elites (Brit Paras at least are coming) and piles of SS-Pgr in response, I'd say yes. If you mean Soldiers as in some sort of 'standard' infantry force I say no way in hell. They simply cant deal with enough battlefield threats which is a laugh because in reality, the plain old grunt is about the most versatile and adaptable thing there was.

I live in Nebraska and there's a guy here in Lincoln who's a Nazi. His name is Gerhard Lauck (http://www.nsm88.com/rally/lauck.html). He does these rallies at the capitol building every once in awhile, and every time the biggest portion of the crowd are anti-Nazi demonstrators. I really don't know what the hell he's trying to do, but I doubt he's doing much of anything. Anyway, I thought that link was funny. A socialist organization calling a Nazi "comrade"? Hilarious.

LOL. I hear in Germany they don't display the German flag as much because of the whole nationalism thing. Heard that from a German foreign exchange student. His exact words were, "because they think the Nazis might come back," but I think that was just him having a little trouble conveying what he meant in English. Anyway, it's too bad that the pride of an entire nation was hurt so deeply by the Nazis, after they claimed to be increasing national pride.
