I am interested in finding out any details about the next set. But specifically, when will the next A & A Minis set be released?

I know that A&A Naval Minis is due out but does that mean a long wait for the next regular set?

I'm still guessing that War at Sea (WAS) is part of the AAM family and will therefore be taking the fall release. I assume that they'll alternate releases after that at some point. The next questions then are 1) What is the theme of the next set and 2) will it be released Winter '06 or Spring '07?

My two cents...

I think it will be realised at winter the next set. War at Sea should be by september-october I think.

Ah ... and the speculation begins.

Ah ... and the speculation begins.

Actually, I guess I should speculate on a theme. Here goes:

1. Pacific - It would help cross promote the initial release of WAS and possibly encourage established AAM gamers and new WAS gamers to get involved in the other game to facilitate larger campaigns. (I know they're not the same game system, but it would be a simple endeavor to tie the two together for a campaign format). Also, it would be a shot in the arm to one of the major powers (Japan) that currently has a minor country feel to it, the Marines would get some love, it would be a good place for more Russians and Nationalist Chinese, and it could introduce Kiwis or more Aussie units. Lastly, a few of the units from Set IV (Amtrack, Higgins) would also find a home there. So that gets my first vote.

2. North Africa - People have been clammoring for this one since day 1. It would be the perfect place to add in a lot of the early war units from the UK and Germany and also (finally) answer the call for an influx of Italians. I'd give this my second vote

3. Kursk or Stalingrad - Some people would argue that the designers have been holding back a bit with the Russians in anticipation of this set. It would be a great place to see a lot of other minor countries introduced for their contributions to the war as well. Still, I think it may be a bit limited in scope considering the other two alternatives that I've already listed.

My two cents...
