View Full Version : So Should I SeaLion him?........

Tomorrow I'm playing my 3rd game of the new version against an old nemesis who is smarter than me -- and who consistently beat me at the original. I'm Axis.
He isn't aware of the gambit -- but was good at the Russia push on either side in the first version. I can't decide whether to SeaLion him or not -- he wouldn't expect it -- and it'd throw it into chaos -- but it might be fun to try -- and it'd make him paranoid in future games.
Or do I just try a traditional Moscow sandwich....

Go for it, you have nothing to lose but the time it takes to set the board up after you resign if you lose ;)

in this case, heck yes you'll shock him. well worth the time to re-set the board if it fails.

Axis & Allies: The only game where WW2 terms such as "Sealion", "Pearl Harbour" and "D-Day" can become verbs.

If he takes out Ukraine, I'd wager on Sea Lion failing. Remember, only if Russia kills no German fighter on the first turn or moves no fighter into UK is the overall chance of Sea Lion succeeding greater than 50% (for getting LRA and then actually taking the UK territory).

The more important question is... how many tech rolls should you do? 6? 8?

Let me know if you try so I can add you to the official SeaSquirrel player list.

There is nothing better than beating a nemesis...
Sealion him, insist that he plays on if you take UK and ;post results on the Take the Sealion challenge thread. CJ is currently playtesting a post-Sealion scenario with several of us to see if the Allies have much hope of winning after the UK falls (with the US being the only one capable of a take back R1)

Do 4 rolls max, but yeah, go for it.

Well -- things didn't quite work out as planned -- he changed his mind-- we picked sides randomly, and I was allies.
Interesting game, though. India Brit factory and U.S. China factory overran Shanghai. Still haven't figured out how to be useful with US, though....They sort of helped in Asia and took back africa....but they just aren't that effective.....I'll take any win I can get.....
