I'd still like to see a remake of the first AA game incorporating improvements from AAE and AAP such as new units, and maybe adding some new things: a better R & D system like has been suggested on sites like Thrasher's, maybe also rules for Espionage, some further units such as Cruisers (cost of 18 - between Destroyers and Battleships, but more of a fighting ship than an AC), SS units, etc.

Good idea. And maybe they should make a new pice, a General. When he is with your other units he give an attack bonus. Any other ideas for improvements?

Adding a few more spaces to the board would be nice. Here are some suggestions:
- Karelia should be two spaces
- It should take more than one round for US forces to reach Europe (make the Atlantic a bit bigger)

With all the variants out there you would hard pressed to incotrporate all the great ideas.
Xeno Games has a greeat new map for it. They add paratroopers.
Gamer's Paradise adds tons of new ships including troop landing ships for amphibious assaults.
Small companies like Striffing Run Games have cards you collect like in Risk that include spies and mine fields and generals....
There are a ton of stuff out there. If any thing you need to make a Axis and Allies ADVANCED!

A General. Well, as an optional rule this would be OK for me.

I'd like to see an Advanced version of AAR. It would incorporate more complex rules and a larger mapboard with some additional spaces. AH could utilize the same pieces for both games reducing costs while nearly doubling sales. The only parts difference would be the instructions, map and some extra burnt orange tanks. Additional units could be added for simulating additional units (eg. SS, Guards, Hvy Bombers) That should make us happy and Avalon Hill happy. We would all have to have standard AAR for leisure play and to be compatible with others AND have Advanced AAR for when we want (have time for) a more complex game (and the bragging rights).
AH could also team with outside suppliers to put together a set of deluxe pieces.
Summary of the new and expanded Avalon Hill Axis & Allies product line:
-Axis and Allies Revised
-Advanced Axis and Allies Revised
-Deluxe Russian units set
-Deluxe German units set
-Deluxe UK units set
-Deluxe Japan units set
-Deluxe USA units set
-Axis and Allies D-Day
-Axis and Allies Europe
-Axis and Allies Pacific
