Hi
I just got the Axis & Allies game for Cristhmas.
Apparently it is the 1987 edition (as I can read in the box) but some components of the game (gameboard and charts) are dated from 1984, the instuction booklet is the Second Edition Rules and is dated from 1986, and finally the Rules Clarification are from 1991.
Can someone please tell me if this is the last version of this game? Or is there a more recent
updated version of the game and the Rules?
Thank you very much.
Happy New Year!

Go to the "FAQ section on this website. You will get a list of links for current AH games. Click on Axis & Allies. In the first paragraph there is a link to the most current official copy of the rules in .pdf format. It sounds to me like your edition is current, but you should be able to verify it by checking it against the rules on this site.

Thank you John.
I followed your instructions, but when I try to access the rules in .pdf I get an error, the page is not available!
Anyway, as announced in the FAQ section, I believe the second edition is indeed the last updated version of the Rules.
Thanks again.

I encountered the same problem when I tried to use the "rule" link near the top of the faq. However, if you go to the very bottom of the page there is another link that says "download Axis & Allies rules" or something to that effect. I was able to successfully get the rules from this link. Note: it takes a while for this to download! I think that most of the available game rules are reached through the link at the very bottom of their respective faq section.

Hi,
Once again thank's a lot John.
I works with Acrobat so I was able to save a copy.
Anyway, just from a 1st fast look it's definetely the same version I have.
Well in fact this game is the 1st non PC game (or any other console game) I offer to my 12 y.o. son! His 1st wargame/boardgame! But as he can't read "all" those rules in english, I was delighted to read them and translate them for him, but even for an "old" gamer not everything is entirely obvious...
For now I have confirmation I get the updated version of the official rules and that's a good thing to know :)
I haven't seen an Errata at the same page, so I guess there isn't one. Meaning that if I find some questions that's probably cause I missed something...
Thanks again
Dolf
