For the majority of your games:
Do you play solo?
Do you play against friends?
Or do you play in tournaments?
Just a curiosity.

I almost play always against 5 of the 20 players we have here. it is a fairly good group of players.

Friends. The game isn't established enough here yet to have any kind of tourney to go with.

I've played by myself but I always know what the enemy is thinking. It gets wierd after a few beers :D

Metaldog, doesn't that make it pretty tough to surprise yourself? I play mostly with a group of friends although I will test ideas by playing against myself. I'm waiting for the first tourney in my area but I can't see doing most of my gaming in that format.

I do the same thing only at night so I don't get interrupted... oh are we still talking about AAM? :o

How do you play solo?
How do you breath? Thats the real question I need to know, I dont know how to do it.
I cant vote. I dont only play in tournys, I dont only play solo, I dont have friends... I have allies.

IMO playing solo just doesn't work too well for a standard game. Part of the game is trying to guess what your opponent might then trying to outsmart him/her.
I might try making a solo scenario; but it will involve a fairly static 'opponent' (MGs, ATGs, etc) to get around that.

I mostly play against friends and family. I occasionally play alone when utterly board. I haven't ever played in a tournement.

I play every Thursday evening with friends and on the weekends with my kids. :)
How in the world do you play by yourself? .....Oh, that didn't sound so good. :D

Well, I've ONLY played solo. I've never played against anyone else really (not so much by choice).
How do you play solo you ask? See my "Axis vs Allies - the battle" thread. That's one way when that is done I have plans for many others.

I mainly play with the same dozen or so guys. I really have no interest in tournament play. Solo seems a little odd to me; it's hard enough for me to maintain a balanced state of mind as it is.

I play solo, but eventually it gets boring and long and i stop.

I try to play against my friends. Unfortunately, they are not interested. I've only played one game with someone else, and that was with an Austrialian visitor, so once they left I'm back to solo :(
I play solo by playing both sides. I don't have enough units so I can only play assault scenarios (I have more Allied units). Or, sometimes I would combine my Russian units with the Axis to create a very inaccurate Cold War type thing. Yeah, it's pretty sad. All my Axis builds include a Pzkpfw IV Ausf G because that's my only German tank :o And eventually, it boils down to dice rolls and which side you like better. I wish I could find 1. the time and 2. another player to play against.

I'd say #1, you need more units....then it's super fun to play by yourself as each build and each map forces you to play a different strategy with each side. ;)

I'd like more units. But they are wayyyyyyyy toooooo pricey. Well, some may argue that they are cheap for pre-painted minis, but they are still a bit expensive for me. I probably will get some more units though.
