Question about Subs "first shot attack"

During combat I understand the subs gets a first “shot attack”. Does the “first shot” keep going during the whole battle or if it makes another shot then the attacked unit can roll dice to defend itself?

Example: 1 sub vs 2 transports

Sub hits a transport on his first attack and sinks the first transport (this transport can't defend because of the first shot attack), then the other transport defends and misses, now its 1 sub vs 1 transport

If the sub hits the 2nd transport on the next attack, does this 2nd transport sinks without defending like the first one or does it get a shot back? :rolleyes:

Matt this is what an administrator of this web page answer to me about the subs attack issue:

:confused: Snake: What I mean is if the first transport is sink and then in the SAME BATTLE at which this first transport has been sunk I attack with the same submarine to the second transport can I make use again of the first attack shot? Is this legal?

redface.gif ROUND 1 -- The sub makes its sneak attack and rolls a 1. This sinks one transport. The surviving transport then gets to shoot back as usual.

redface.gif ROUND 2 (same turn, same battle, but second round of dice rolling) -- The sub gets to sneak attack again. Let's assume that this time it rolls a 5 and misses. Now the transport gets to shoot back again, and we'll assume it misses again.

redface.gif ROUND 3 (same turn, same battle, but third round of dice rolling) -- The sub gets to sneak attack again. Let's assume it rolls a 2. The transport is sunk without getting to shoot back, and the battle is over. :D :rolleyes: I guess we were doing it wrong Matt

Yes, submarines can get a first shot attack on every round. Just remember that they can't hit planes.
