I'm running an Axis & Allies Minis tournament this Wednesday at my local gaming store. Every player will build two 100-point armies, one axis, and one allied. What are the rules for a 100-point tournament-style tournament? e.g.-time limits, etc. Any help would be of most help, as i've never ran a tournament. Thanks.

Good luck. I hope you have your Striped Shirt and flame retardant. By the end of the day someone will hate you. But on the bright side someone will also be your new best friend.
Seriously though,
Enjoy, I hope you have a fun tourney

heck - first off, good luck.

I have run a good number of tournaments, and I think these are the most important points:

1. If you are doing it in a true DCI Sanctioned format, each player brings 1-100 point army. They just pick a side, and quite often, you end up Axis v. Axis, or Allies v. Allies. It just happens. I chalk it up to a training exercise, if anyone gets up in arms about it.

2. If you have players who know what they are doing, 1 hour is plenty of time for each round. After 20-30 minutes, most people will only be on turn 2 or 3 - that's ok - the first turns are always longer than the later ones.

3. If you can - have an internet connection handy, as the rules forum has most every question that comes up already answered - it is a sticky in the rules forum. It has saved my life many a time in the past. If you can't, make sure to at least print out the errata, and have that on hand, and read as much of the questions/answers beforehand. Most of the stuff makes sense, once you read it.

4. If all else fails, and you don't have a definitive answer, make the best soultion you can think of, and stick to it. Nothing is worse than a judge who is wishy-washy about decision making.

If you have any other tournament-type questions, drop me an email at my handle @gmail.com - the more players, the merrier.

I forgot to ask... Is it a sanctioned tournament? DCI?
If yes, you have to limit players to one side battalion.
If it is a open tournament, then you are free.

I am the organizer at my flag store, I can send you a easy form to register the battalion .

The way I divide the prices and booster:
Price are base upon the amount toss in by players. We usually play $5 entry tournament.

That gives us the next Chart:

Top 2 players = 1 Booster + 1 Promo figures (Combat Zone Kit) + 1 Tile (Combat Zone Kit) and first player receive a medal (Combat Zone Kit)

All other players receive 1 promo figures or 1 tiles (Their choice)

All remaining booster are opened and divided from player 3 to last given the best rare to the 3rd and so on.

So a example: 8 players = 4 Boosters (2 to the top 2 players and 2 divided among the others)

a additional booster for every 2 additional players to the tourney. (10 players = 5 boosters)
