Would anybody want to see repair trucks like say if a vehicle is damaged for a certain amount of time it can be repaired or would that be unrealestic?

Probably outside the scope of a tactical battlefield.

neat idea but may not be in keeping with A&AMs small unit actions.

Its unrealistic for the time frame. I think that it would be good if this was a day long battle or something but not for this time frame. I would however like to see a cheap transport truck for each nation. The germans need one the most.

Nope. I don't think I have to explain, because someone else will... :D

Sure, we could have Goober or Cooter (can I say that here?) come to the damaged vehicle and tow it off.
No, just kiddin'. We don't need those either. No repair trucks, or medics, or mechanics.

Yeah, and give to SNLF fanatics light sabers... Why not? Ya don’t know if they DON’T sense The Force!
No repair trucks, or medics, or mechanics

I saw this feature in the computer game "Panzers Phase One"...it was totally unrealistic, you could park a repair truck behind a king Tiger and the Tiger would be constantly repaired. AAM should stay away from any type of mechanic system. Mechanic were never on the battlefield, they were support staff and were often miles away.

No thanks. If I damage a Vet. Tiger I damn sure want that sucker to STAY damaged. Plus it's unrealistic.

Nope, thx.
For the skirmish scale the repair trucks are just not quick enough, so better leave them out.

Where I can see them being used is when people are playing a string of scenarios where the survivors from the first battle are the units used for henext one. At the end of a given scenario each player rolls for each damaged vehicle. On a 5 or 6 that vehicle is repaired and ready for the next battle. If you roll 1 to 4 that unit goes into the next battle damaged. Just a thought.

I do have to say it is a great idea for most other games... something like H.G. not this type of game.
But I do love the repair trucks in the panzer computer game :D saved me so many times

Sounds great....matter of fact....sounds so great, I don't see the need to even have a 3-D model to represent the repair truck. :P

I would rather see more specialized, combat-engineer vehicles and tanks. With all this bridge-blowing that has been going on for a while, why not a bridge-layer?

I have a better idea. They should give us a repair truck. But... take out the word repair. Which gives us trucks. :D varooooom! But yeah we don't need a unit to represent a repair truck.

The models could be on table, and if they survive, you get to roll "repairs" & "healings" in-between battles. That way, you could get a defense zone with some flak 'n all...

Hmm, on map targets...Adds a whole new nastiness to flanking maneouvers. And the decisions. Do you move forward to take the objective or pull back to save my repair trucks. It might even make you keep something in reserve.
Oh wait -paratroopers!- so much for on the field, I think. At least in 100 point games. I don't think you can keep 20 points back to keep it protected from planes motorcycles and paratroopers. unless the other guy has to protect his too. Hmmm twisted. :D

100 pts games aren't really suitable for campaigns...

Oops you're right of course, brain gas. That puts it all back in perspective and suggests a scenario. Protect a headquarters that also serves as a "service centre". It consists of a commander -pick one from the existing officers- a medic to treat infantry-maybe on a roll of 6 you can rebuild a destroyed unit, roll once for each unit- and a repair truck for tanks. Whatever gets killed affects how well you can recover between battles. Oh boy, shades of Blood Bowl.:D

Maybe an ambulance for the medic to cruise in? We could get Cooter to drive Dr. Granny Clampett to the scene. :D
