When all your forces retreat one space back from attacking does that count as one of the airplane's move? Also after retreating back with all the other units can it still fly away on the "non-combat move" sequence

Yes it counts as a movement, and no they can't move during non-combat movement later.
All units that retreat must all do so into one space and their turn is over for any additional movement.

Take a look at page 18 under: Option-Special Privilege of Attacker.
It explains that all attackers withdrawn forces must all retreat to one territory and it must be a territory where at least some of the units came from.

Then on Non-Combat movement it specifies that only units that did not move in Combat movement can be moved. Since any units that had to withdraw must have participated in combat movement then they will be forced to remain in the territory they retreated to.

Hope this helps.

Hi guys.

Actually, if the attacking force includes air units, they retreat seperately, during non combat. This is from the rules clarifications included in the later editions of the game:

"Partial retreats are not allowed for air units. If other units in their attacking force retreat, they must also retreat. They do not, however, have to retreat back to one adjacent friendly territory, nor do they retreat at the same time as the other units! Retreating air units retreat only as many spaces as left in their flight range movement. Their retreat is considered the landing phase of their movement and must only be done in the noncombat move phase of their turn. "
