could i get an explanation of fighters movement?
here is where i run into problems:
can a fighters last move after combat be to an empty sea zone?
is it only if there is a friendly carrier moved into that sea zone before the end of the turn? if there is not by the end of the turn then the plane would crash correct?

A fighter may move into a friendly or empty sea zone after combat if there is a friendly carrier there with a space for it to land, or if there is such a carrier that is eligible to move to the sea zone in Non-Combat Movement. At the point that the fighter makes the move, the intent to move the carrier to rendezvous with it must be announced, and the carrier must be moved if at all possible. The fighter does not actually land until the end of the Non-Combat Movement phase.
Bear in mind that only the possibility of moving the carrier to the sea zone must exist, even if it is only the slightest chance. For example, I have a carrier, a fighter and a sub in sea zone 1, and there is an enemy fleet consisting of 3 battleships in sea zone 2 and an enemy transport in sea zone 4. I can move my fighter to attack the transport with the intention of moving the it to sea zone 3 after combat while moving the carrier to meet it in Non-Combat Movement, if I move my sub to attack the battleships to sink them and clear the way. The odds of making this happen are relatively nil, but it is possible, therefore it is a legal move. In the likely event that my sub does not sink the battleships, the fighter would crash in sea zone 3 at the end of my turn. If the fighter is shot down by the transport, the carrier is not obligated to make the declared non-combat move.
