Anyone else use the Attack! land battle system for A&A? At the moment I only use it for A&A:E (Now with artillery in the original, I'll use it there too.)

For those who aren't familiar with it it works like this:
Use 6 sided die. 1 side infantry, 1 side tank, 1 side artillery, 2 sides plane and one side blank. At the begginning of each battle the attacking player moves up 4 units (if he has that many) and then the defending player follows suit.

The defending player fires first, rolling the correct amount of d6: 1 for each unit and an extra d6 for each tank on the line. He matches up the symbol on the die with his firing troops, and locates his hits as follows, with a limit of one hit per unit:
Infantry must take out infantry, then tanks, then artillery, then planes.
Tanks are the same as above with one exception: they can skip the infantry.
Artillery follows the infantry pattern, and can destroy 2 infantry with 1 hit.
Planes can destroy anything.

Next the attacking player reinforces and counter-attacks. During the next round players put up to 5 units on the line, up to 6 units during the third round and so on, and up to 8 units max(8 units is a house rule for A&A).

Bombers and fighters: Since there are no bombers or fighters, only planes in Attack!, I treat fighters as regular planes, and give bombers special rules:
On offense: a hit when either a plane or blank is rolled.
On defense: a hit when a blank is rolled.

I think these rules add some spice to the game, and forces you to think about strategy during battles, and also forces you to have diversified armies (which is more historical, you can't when a war with only tanks).

Check out the eagle game website for info on their games, and the store to purchase the special d6 ( I believe you can purchase them seperately).
