This looks like a follow-on title to Axis & Allies: D-Day, using that combat system.

I've been big into the 'regular' Axis & Allies, and also A&A: Pacific, never got into D-Day, the combat system just didn't appeal to me at that level...

"Introduces Truck playing pieces... and randomized casualties of war"

Trucks will be nice. Randomized casualties will be more realistic than "kill your infantry first."

Awesome! Looks like the boardgame gets trucks before the minis game. And D12s! And supply rules. Count me in.

I'll have to get this one too. I like the D-Day game alot too. My wife plays that one as well. Too bad that A&A Europe and Pacific are broke. I hope that LH keeps doing the A&A games in this scale.

Though in both A&A Europe ( buy only tanks and infantry for a couple of rounds and head straight for Moscow) and Pacific ( all out rush for India) it's difficult to win for the Allies, it's not impossible. Hint: strategic bombing. With a little luck that just might buy you enough time to turn the tide.....

I use in both games (Europe and Pacific the total War variant - Victory can only achieved if all Enemy Capitals are won. Though When I do that with the Pacific game, I give Japan reinforcements the few first turn - else Japan has (almost) no chance to win.

I've seen two German victories in A&A Europe - both times the Allied players had a few too many beers. For the Allies to win in the Pacific, they have a VERY rigid plan that they need to follow with no deviations - none. Or, you could get the Japanese player snockered on some beer or other kind of intoxicant. D-Day is a good game that could go either way early on or it can come down to 6-8 die rolls on the last turn in St. Lo. Then again, beer can help play a part in your win.

Either way, I can't wait to see the new BoB game.

That's what Cruizin means by broke: same high probability strategy gets played over and over again to the point you wear grooves on the mapboard. THe games are broke because of the narrow victory conditions. Something they tried to address in A&AR with limited success.
