Brummbar & Hetzer

100 points 13 units:

4 x Wehrmacht Veteran Infantrymen
1 x Sturmpanzer IV "Brummbar"
2 x Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer
6 x Luftwaffe Infantrymen

this is just a crazy build ;)
this build is purely for fun, even though i haven't play tested yet.
i doubt it'll be competetive, although it might get really annoying for
my opponent :D

the two hetzers are there for obvious reasons, to counter enemy armor
and if they don't, then i'll try to use the hetzers as decoys, something to
entertain my opponent with, or atleast try

the Luftwaffe infantrymen are their to scare enemy aircraft(or again try!!)
and if they don't then i'll use them to hold up enemy infantry along side my
WVI, while my brummbar tries to kill as many enemy infantry as possible

the WVI are there for two reasons,
1) to go against enemy infantry
2) to try and atleast damage light/medium tanks and armored cars

so what ya guys think?

That sounds like a solid (non SS) build. I do not like the Luftwaffe, but if you face Planes they might do their job (at least they scare planes even at medium range).

You might get problems with multiple Shermans, but else I think the army might fare well.

What I miss is a commander...

you know, at first i looked at the build and liked everything but lack of officer and all of those luftwaffe inf. Luftwaffe inf can really only threaten planes at short range, and that is not even threatening since their short attack is only 7 dice! and are therefore worthless. then i realized that having 6 of them is cheap, and puts a lot of them on the board. they don't really need to kill allied inf, so much as harass them so that the wvi can kill them. there is always something to be said about numbers. the luftwaffe are worthless for CA 5 too btw.

i dunno, i like it, but i would have to play it to know how well it can work.

I like the build but would probably replace a few of the Luftwaffe infantrymen with a 20mm and then move them together as an infantry decoy while everything else moves towards the objective.

I use Luft Inf the same way you did. Spread them out in a rough circle around what you need to protect from planes. If you put them 2 hexes away from what they're covering then planes can only attack at med range, or face multiple LIs at short range. Perhaps a badly crafted image will help to explain.

This forces your opponent to kill off the LIs first, which costs you next to no points and prevents him from killing anything of value.
My only worry with your build is that the Hetzers may not be able to handle an Allied heavy tank if one shows up.
Great idea for a build, keep 'em coming.
