In the meantime use the Japanese MG as your 30 cal. And the Vickers as your 50 cal. They will probably have the same stats anyway.

What, an American machine gun?!! WotC have their head stuck in a dark place if, after 4 sets, they don't have a US MG. They give the US just about every kind of tank or soldier with SAs that come close to Star Wars (look at the 20 shot BAR!), but ignore the most heavily produced MGs ever made. Go figure.

I think the vickers was an american machine gun in real history, is it?

Yes and no. Yes, because they had one in WW2. No because the Quad 50 is a machine gun (it gets 2 shots per turn) it just moves differently than the other MG teams. It also has the added advantage of the SA AA.
I voted yes, hoping that when playing the US you would have a choice of the traditional MG team or the Quad 50.

I voted yes for the same reason. I hope WOTC votes yes too because theirs is the only one that really counts. :(

Didn't the USMC use a water-cooled .30 Browning (?) for a while longer than other forces? At what point were all major countries' MGs air-cooled? You guys know a lot more about this than I do.

A generic US 30cal would be fine with. Army or marine would not change the stats any for a crew served weapon.

They were in the inventory and definately used, but production had changed to the air-cooled version before the '40s. The Vickers was a .303 Cal. and British designed and made. Also, the Allies made immense use of the US built .50 Cal. MG. It was used on ships, tanks, planes, other vehicles, and with a tripod. The .50 weighed a lot and wasn't usually dragged around the battlefield, the .30 was meant for that role.

Army,Marine or Boy Scout, the US needs a .30 cal MG.This remains one of the most glaring omissions to date.

the americans had 50 cals out the wazoo, the canadian recon units turned in 3 times their heavy MG alotment at the end of the war, they would trade lugers and similar to the american units for 50cals all the time

I do not only want a Marines MG, but also a commander and some other Marines specialists.

I agree more Marines would be cool also
I wanted to see a USMC Sniper
but they already added a US Sniper
so im content with that

but the US 30cal machine gun team is a must
it shoulda been in the 1st or 2nd set

We desperately need two Russian MGs too! ( the one on wheels and the light (?) machine gun that looks a little bit like the German ones ( sorry I'm not a specialist at names, but I hope many of you will know which ones I mean...) They're usually both in all sets of Russian plastic soldiers you buy..........

I think it should be added, it's a cool unit. What's been done wrong is AA -weapons are much too cheap for what they do, they are freakingly dangerous for expensive aircraft and yet they don't cost more than regular machineguns.

What sets of Russian plastic soldiers? I haven't seen them in the States.
Hmm, what would be the cost of shipping a set or two overseas?

Since the US has just about everything, great tanks, great planes, great infantry, etc and they already have a couple of machine guns in the AA and half track, they can do without for a while. I agree they probably should have had a MG team earlier in the game and not have gotten something else.

I like balance in this game where I can play any of the major powers and have a good chance to win and the US usually has an advantage in choice and quality.

What you'll likely get is some cruddy MG team that no one will want to play.

This is right up my alley. Atlantic molds were bought by Nexus and they have reissued the Russian army. The MGs on wheels are kind of out of scale with these guys. Revell and Esci made some nice Russian troops as well. Go to places like classictoysoldiers.com to find these. Evil Bay might have some as well. A-Toys also made 1/72 Russian solders. Good luck and happy hunting!!

There should be not one, but two, U.S. machine guns in this game. By that I mean squad level guns able to move with standing infantry units. The U.S. should be able to field a .30 and .50 caliber gun. These items are glaring omissions in the first four sets of minis. Sadly, I don't think they will be included in the next set.

Of course US .30 & .50 cal. MGs should be added as soon as possible.
It's just really odd to play a WWII game(whatever rules you choose) without such staple pieces.....

Omitting these guns, yet giving the Chinese a MG, is akin to making the game without a Sherman! We have the entire US army out there and no MG. What kind of DevTeam does WotC have, anyway?

Once more, with feeling. The Quad 50 is a machine gun. A machine gun with AA ability no less. Yes a mini of a MG team would be nice but would you really play it if it cost as much as a Quad 50? If you're worried about movement then how about the 1/2 track with Quad 50 in the back?

Plus it can touch a Mk-IV at range 8, if I'm remembering the long range AV right. If a Marine .30 cal MG came out, there would be an issue of why the Marines get a MG and the Army doesn't, how come the Americans have 2 MGs, etc...

I would like to see a US .30 cal MG. The problem is that there are so many units I would like to see. Like a Soviet machine gun, a British mortar, Soviet AA, and an American engineers, for starters.
