This might be a little far fetched or might be to powerful dunno
but the US did para drop soldiers with Moded M1 Rifles with scopes
even though they didNT have the title Sniper
its pretty much what they did

where better to have a Sniper to take out key targets
then behind enemy lines

I think that USA's paratroopers only dropped with M1A1 Carbines with foldable stocks cuz they were lightweight and could be attached to your leg.

I guess you are referring to some Action Figures that represent US Para sniper.
Well, I do not recall reading specific drop of US Para Sniper, but rather some special training done for ground purpose.
That does not mean none saw direct combat while order, in their primary mission, to cover and snipe.
US nation is definitely a powerful nation in AAM, so, I don't know if it would be a good avenue to bring a 5/5 Sniper that can appear on the map and snipe Commandant on the second turn. He can also be a 4/4, but he can still appear anywhere and get your AA down in matter of a turn.

Hey Mu11etboy what is your avatar? It looks like something from advance wars.

I took these (http://www.panelmonkey.org/pds/WWII1.png\) edited Advance Wars Sprites and put a German Officer head and put it on a pistol guy and recolored it the russian colors.

Actually, for at least D-Day and Market Garden most troopers carried the standard M1 Garand in a pouch slung across the chest; I'm not certain when/if the folding-stock carbine became standard.

Paratroopers used a variety of weapons. Reg. and modified thompsons, carbines, garands, .30 cals, mortars, colts and I think they also used a BAR and sniper rifles, not sure about it though, doubtful.

What better unit to include in the upcoming set. Its going to include units that saw little or no action but that did exist. The people who like to play the US can certainly hope.

the paratroops carried all kinds of weapons, 30 cals m1 garands, folding carbines, greaseguns, thompsons, mortars, springfields, bar's, bazookas, almost any weapon the standard infantry carried, like the folding carbine, some were modified to better suite the paratroops.
