A few days ago there was a discussion about 3d maps. I had stated that I don't have the space for three dimensional maps and here are the reason's why. My first 3d map was a Squad Leader (#2) map I enlarged by 250% and cut and mounted. I bought a couple of 3/4 inch foam sheets and cut out the hills. I plastered and painted them. I cut out bases for the trees from 1/4 inch plywood and painted them. As you can tell in the pictures I have mounted some of the trees.
I like the squad leader maps more than the AAM maps. Thats why I'm not that interested in making 3d AAM maps. Before you jump me for being down on AAM you should know that I have two mounted copies of almost evey map and thats what I use for the majority of my AAM gaming.

Your links are all dead-ends. I'd love to see the work you've done.
Any other option for showing them off?

Ver' nice, ver' nice.
So the SL map in the first image is blown up large enough to play w/ A&AMinis? I'm curious, what %'age of enlargement did it take?
You've given me the idea of blowing up all my SL/ASL maps for use w/ A&AM!
I can always House Rule in the TEC/LOS & Movement Costs.

** I like the look of the basic(enlarged) SL maps.
The 3-d hills just don't do anything for me though. Not my style I guess.
But if your happy with them, that's what's important.

The 3d Hills look very nice and beg the question as to what rules could be implimented for elevation. Do you just play the hills as hills or do you use something to take relative height into account.

I enlarged the maps to 250%.
The only rule change we made for the 3d hill was when attacking a unit at a higher level, the defender gets a +1 to the cover roll. Its also hard to tell but the hills a 3 different levels. It also take 2 MP's for vehicle to move up one level.
Buildings give cover just like towns on AAM. Vehicles do not get cover when in the same space as a building. Thinking about using forest rules for vehicles entering buildings. If they don't succeed at the die roll they don't get cover. No other changes to the rules.
