How should a 200 point French Army be built when you are facing Italy and Romania?

I know thier infantry are obsolite, but what about the bohler antitank gun and Vigilant Lieutenant?

Well, the Italy-Roumanian player will field Carro's, Blackshirts, Bohlers and Vigilant Liutnants, maybie some AT grenadiers and a few fucile's.

The french player must field Somua's, Char's, bold captains and MAS. Maybie some Renault's.

The French's have the advantage with the Armor, and in the infantry, well, the Blackshirt's-MAS is a good battle. The Bohlers should be the diference between wining or loosing with the Axis, because the Carro have no chance against the Char.

I think that overall should be a good battle.

What should I do about the Bohlers? I know that he will propbably use 8 carro armato's which will be chewed up by th chars and Somuas and his Romanian tanks will be destroyed by the renaults.

Blackshirts, Blackshirts, and Blackshirts. If I had to take an army, it would be Blackshirts. Nothing but Blackshirts. Did I mention Blackshirts?

The Carros are cheaper than the Char and Somua tanks and should hold their ground against the Renault. If there are enought Carros I would not use (many Bohler) - only try to get first as italian. The Blackshirts can be used in two roles Anti Infantry wher they should shred the French infantry in average time (it seems an good idea to disrupt as many french units and the use Ruthless in the next round. The BS with Close Assault 6 can also be effective against French Disrupted tanks.

All in All My italian build would be (at least 6 Carros) Tons of Blackshirts - even some Brixias which can help to disrupt the Blackshirts victims. NO Rumanian tanks and only a few AT guns and AT Grenadiers . 1-3 Rom-Officers (for ini and to protect the Guns)

Th French have clear tank advantage, but as romania is good/average against light to medium tanks and the Carros are quite good in early war settings the battle seems quite balanced.

Italy has the better Infantry, but the French are able to field 4 MAS for each Blackshirt, so the battle is open here too.

I am looking forward to hear an after action report (with army listings :D)

maps.

Which ones, how many. I know there will be 30 units on each side. I fear a standard 4 maps might be to crowded.

Also we aren't sure if we should use more than one objective.

opinions???

I think a good army would be 2 Romanian tanks as bait.....the carros will move in from the flanks and 2-4 bohler can take up flanking position using the vigilant lt. to stregthen them. That can spell doom for any armor if they take the bait, and if they don't just make sure the bohler has an effective field of fire. Also a good Italian army would have lots of blackshirts. I try to make it into platoons based around the mortar. A mortar and 4 blackshirts comes in at 20 pts. Since these nations don't have many expensive units I would take out the 15 unit limit per 100 pts. It would help with making a french force too.

How would you play as the Italian/Romanian player, would you field lots of tanks, load the map with Bohlers? Aggresive? Defensive? Passive?

6 maps and 2 objectives will be used

If it was me, i would use at least 6 italian tanks with at least 4 bohlers and some AT grenadiers. I would be very aggresive as a trap to take down my opponent.

Offensive-defensive, a combination of both. The French have better chance to win if you let them enter. You must try to make a good defensive front line with the Bohlers and the Liuetnants. Your carros should also try to get into good points were they can shoot at the french tanks. The AT grenadiers must go as fast as they can to the front supported by blackshirts.
