Steve:
I don't quite understand the divergence from the rules on Speed Boost. Can you clarify? The way the SA reads, it seems to me that the effects of the Do.335's attacks essentially deal immediate (eg. face-up) counters.
How is it that the Do.335's attack can cause face-down counters, caused by other attack sources, to become face-up for purposes of casualty resolution?
I've always understood that face-down is face-down and face-up is face-up, with the two results not stacking. Seems that Speed Burst breaks that rule.
If a Do.335 scores a Disruption on an enemy aircraft with immediate (face-up) result, is that plane immediately removed from play (as per the rule that prohibits Disrupted aircraft from entering the game board in a Disrupted condition)? Or may the plane continue on mission at the additional risk?
Seems to me that the Do.335 should be able to apply it's "immediate effect" to it's attack alone. That way if the Wirblewind hits my P-51 and scores a face-down Disruption, then the Do.335 fires using Speed Burst and scores a face-up Disruption, my P-51 is:
A) Immediately Disrupted (per the Do.335), BUT...
B) Survives to do it's job until the Casualty Phase when the Wirblewind's face-down Disruption flips face-up, resulting in two hits and a Destroyed result.
Please feel free to be verbose for the community's (and my) sake of understanding.
Thanks,
Robert
