Congratulations are in order for Vegas Showdown. It was selected by GAMES magazine as their game of the year.
Well deserved!

Agreed. A Euro-style game, with All-American flavor (after all, it's VEGAS, BABY!).

Odd then that AH is disposing of all their stock...

Game quality and game sales can and do diverge at times. And AH lowered the price on a block of their games at one time.

And I remember TAHGC titles at cut-rate prices on Amazon, once upon a time. Bought a copy of Merchant of Venus for a friend...for $15.00.
There are a myriad of reasons why a company lowers the price to move stock on hand. Of course, the nay-sayers will correlate any of this to AH's ever-impending doom.

I didn't say discount.
I said dispose (as in throw out).

You'd have to elaborate.

Well, perhaps the general apathy these new titles have received from the gaming community lead to this decision. Generally, uninformed opinions quick to denegrate anything from AH that doesn't involve tanks, battleships or Roman Legions. It's a fate too many games suffer (not just AH products, but most titles in general). Gamers come up with some preconception of a game, then refuse to even give it a chance. Many games suffer and die from opinion, regardless of the actual quality of the game.
This is actually a very clever, playable and balanced game with high replay value. However, anti-AH sentiments have doomed this one to the same fate as other recent AH titles which are not as ingenious (Sword & Skull and Rocketville are indeed dreadful games). This game deserved a chance.

Not that I wouldn't like a game with tanks, battleships, or Roman Legions (though please not all three).

Same here. I have copies of Flat Top, Panzer Blitz/Leader, Russian Campaign, etc. collecting dust, waiting for opponents. But, in the meanwhile, I don't have a problem giving other games a shot. You never know if you'll find a favorite hidden in another box.
