I know this has probably been asked a thousand times, and yes I've searched the forum high and low...BUT

How do I get these maps to print on 8.5x11 paper without the white borders!! I'm using an HP Officejet 7110 as my printer. I've gone through my Adobe features trying to resize, unscale, all that good stuff...but the darn thing won't cooperate. There is no print preview in my Acrobat 7.0 either.

My only option will be to print out ALL the maps and trim them down, but that ruins my plexiglass investment for the original maps.

Anybody got any suggestions, other than give up? I guess I could save the files to a memory stick and go to kinko's, but I'm not ready to throw the towel in on this one yet. I will prevail Avalon Hill!!!

Hee-Hee. The pdfs have borders because the maps are actually 8 x 10.5 not 8.5 x 11. So you gotta crop 'em to get them down to size. If you fiddle with the sizing of the maps with the borders, the will be out of whack. What I would like to know is why the newer maps only have a smaller border on the left/right edges. So confusing.... How does this futz up your plexiglass though?

plexiglass, smexiglass....all I do is lay out my flattened maps and put pre-cut plexiglass on top of them and play away.

I'm wondering if I should just do a snapshot and paste the maps in Word and then play with the margins that way. Which makes me think of another question....What's the best type of paper to print these out on to get the best quality? I'm thinkin of printing these out and glueing them to a cardboard or rigid foam backing.

If you're lucky, the printer has a 'borderless' option somewhere. Go dig around in 'printer setup' or something.

Pasaldes' right. If you want to print them using a borderless printer, you would have to enlarge them a bit (unless your printer does that automatically) but then your maps will be 1/2 inch too long and wide compared with those that come with the game. However, you can always load a copy of the originals and print them out the same way -- keep extra printer cartridges handy, though. :)

I use the borders to glue them together. Just cut off the sides that face out and use a glue stick on the border and you have your map. I use a b/w printer so it has that "WWII" map feel to it.

I've had the same experience and I agree with Pasalades. If you get rid of the border, your maps will not match the originals. I've mounted all my maps on thich posterboard. If I cut them on the board properly, I can get 7 maps from one sheet. I use a razor knife and a netal yard stick to trim them. I also have knikos print my maps. I save them to a disc and then tell them to print them on 11 X 17 sheets. I also have to tell them NOT to crop or resize. I have about 10 maps that are too large to use with the rest. Kinko's charges about $2.00 a map. A lot cheaper than printing on my printer.

Ive found printing them on cheap photo paper is best, its more rigid than paper and you get a better quality print..
