What's your top 10 commanders to use in a 100 point battle? Here's mine:

1) SS Haupsturmfuhrer - Exerting my will
2) Inspiring Commander - Moving 2 is invaluable
3) Vigilant LT - Makes Artillery and Mortars survive
4) Imperial Sgt - Banzai and can use the sword
5) Commissar - Can be a game changer
6) Wehrmacht OberLT - AT and Angriff
7) Eagle-Eyed NCO - 6 range is GOOOOD.
8) SE Captain - Expensive but a strong unit on its own
9) Cosaack - good as a ride-along
10) Red Devil Captain - basic solid

What's your top 10?

I'd drop OberLt down to #10. Otherwise I don't see much to quibble with your list. In most games though Vigalent Lt is not very useful. Maybe I'd drop him behind Eagle-Eye.

Moving 2 isnt that valuable. And at 14 pts, Ober hits the bottom for me, as I won't risk this guy, even if he has a panzershreck in one hand and an smg in the other.

Your list is good though.

For the Axis the Hampster is a no-brainer in a 100 point build. Go to 150 and I'll add a WOLtnt immediately. At 200 I'll use 2 WOLtnts to Angriff each other and Stormtroopers.
For the Allies my choices are RDCpt. -1 to enemy cover rolls is very effective. In bigger builds I add an EENCO. An RDCpt, an EENCO and a couple of M1s (with bonus die for proximity to commanders) are an exceptional squad for picking off enemy infantry at a range where they can't fight back.
And if I'm playing Paras of any kind then the SECpt is also worth the price (+1 dice to all neighbouring Paras makes them mean).

I didn't too highly of the OberLt until last night. Played a game where he managed to get a flank shot on a DD Sherman. Disrupt and Damage one turn, followed by another Disrupt and Destroy the next turn - at a range of 4! Of course, he promptly got cut to pieces in the return fire. :p

I think highly of the Wehrmach Oberleutnant, when your build is fitted around him.(For non *** axis force). What commanders to use is also often based upon who you fight, is it the soviets or the allies, the japanese or the rest of the axis.

Though. I can see if players who mix countries would prefer the Imperial Sergeant.

1) Eagle-Eyed NCO (Powergaming with M1 Garand!)
2) SS Haupsturmfuhrer (+3 init. Disruption? What Disruption?)
3) Inspiring Hero (Versatile, Sturdiest Commander available)
4) SE Captain (+3 init. that can stay unharmed until you need to teleport him!)
5) SNFL Captain (Pinpoint with Seasoned Crew Type 89 Mortar!)

Imperial Sergeant and Wehrmacht Oberleutenant are strong leaders but in a 100 points game they seem to have a perpetual priority target on them that means that they will not reach the fight. 9 and 13 points is also a lot of points for these respective commanders.

10) uhh, there are no more worthy candidates, but I'll stick the SNLF Cpt here.

Heavily influenced by the Axis/Allies dichotomy. For instance, the SNLF Cpt. is actually straight up better than the Red Devil Cpt by being 1 point cheaper, but the Axis would be crazy to waste points on him in 100 point builds. I think the EENCO is overrated. Rarely will I, as your opponent, allow Improved Accuracy to give you any advantage on a standard map. On a blank map, hey, the EENCO becomes numero uno. The only reason it's even #7 is it's a lot cheaper than the next best ones.
