Definition of Attacks
The definition of 'an attack' has been expanded --
Instead of Attacking: Some special abilities tell you to do something "instead of attacking" and replace your normal attack with some other effect. In these cases, the effect that happens "instead of attacking" is considered to be an attack if it results in you rolling attack dice.

Mustang# Rockets (8)
Once per game, this unit can make an attack against a Vehicle or Soldier, up to four hexes away, with 8 attack dice.

I don't have the exact wording of the Mustang at work, but does this change to teh defn of attack mean that spotters will give extra dice to rocket attack of the Mustang now (since they did not get it before)?

See previous answer here:
Rockets 8 + spotter
Can the Mustang's SA be increased by one extra dice roll if the spotter is also within four hexes of the target? Therefore the Mustang can use 9 rockets?
No. Rockets 8 is a special ability, not an attack, and Spotter applies only to normal attacks.

That was one of the questions that triggered the redefinition of Attack. The change in definition made the answer obsolete and that was noted in this thread (http://boards.avalonhill.com/showthread.php?t=11665&highlight=Rockets+spotter). Apparently I never actually went back and fixed the earlier answer as I claimed to have done.
