Check out this thread (http://boards.avalonhill.com/showthread.php?t=15804) from the Q&A forum.

Guaranteed kills on SS-PGs and everybody else. Crazy. Granted, it won't happen all the time but could be very useful on open maps.

We have other "formulas" but cannot tell you due to security restrictions.

Kaufschtick and I have been banned from playing at conventions. ;)

OTOH it still requires you to sacrifice a soldier yourself... ;)

That's what KMT Riflemen are for.

You need to invest in a vulnerable ammo dump too. However, I do believe that this is not what I want the game to be. " Guaranteed" kills. I mean, part of the FUN for me is that the best planned attacks may SOMETIMES still go sour because of bad die rolls......Normally, you won't have any problems winning in the end if you're the better player, anyway.....

Don't like the greyhound at all either as a " sniper hunter" . Plain silly!

I'm with you 100% on that. Silly sugar coated kiddie stuff. I'll use the depot units as much as I do the airplanes - never. That ranks up there with the Vet Tiger. "I suck at this game so I'll use the Vet Tiger I and a Hero". Atleast we have the choice to NOT use the depot pieces. Thank goodness!!

Nor will you have to use the Greyhound either, or any other unit that you don't like for that matter. The implication however that anyone who may like playing a V.Tiger or with heroes "SUCKS" as a gamer is odd though  Maybe they're just as NOT as "serious" as you ;)

I'm not a "serious" gamer as I do like to have fun. The Vet Tiger I is just easier to use and will usually kill whatever it sees. I don't look at it as a challenge to use whatsoever. Using one Hero is alright but a mass of them - well, you know. ;)

Tell me about it. I faced off against a Vet Tiger for the first time (using Soviet forces) and got my fanny tanned! Even the IS-2 I was using got whacked! :(

lol - lol What no HERO armies! One is OK, but I find more often then not that I don't use them as there are so many other things I'd rather have - like tanks! :)

I guess they are even going to be able to take out ( disrupted) panzer IV's now much more frequently, when you're going to get two guaranteed hits from your dice............Well, a kind of "headshot" I suppose.....

A V.Tiger is a beast to be sure! I really like the IS-2's (I have a couple of them) but for their point value they haven't lived up to my expectations. The IS-3 sounds interesting from the new info. I've read on it. Expen$ive though!!!

It was my first time using an IS-2 as well. I might simply have not played it well. Well, that coupled with the fact that when I play my son, he seems to have charmed dice rolls! :p

I don't disagree with you at all. The V.Tiger is a AFV "killing machine" which is fairly straight forward in terms of how to play it. However, it is also a case of putting all your eggs in one (very big & expensive) basket. You don't have all that much left over with which to purchase the rest of your army. Infantry CA's are its bane. A 5pt. flamethrower! Yikes  Look out! Which leads to another point - you then need to devote additional resources (that could be used elsewhere) to protect it from enemy infantry. And, of course various "tank swarms" will also take it down.

Now to get this back (a little more at least) on topic there are undoubtedly many "fabulous" ;) and "amazing" combos that will arise from the inclusion of the depot units in the game, in particular the ammo dump! But I am looking forward to them. I think they will be FUN! :D However, I am of the opinion that "auto-kills" are "over-kill."

If this "killer kombo" sours your taste for the game, I'd invite you to check out the Historical House Rules Committee's alternative stat cards (link in my .sig, they're free to download) or any of the other excellent rulesets available in the House Rules forum. HHR is already starting discussion on revisions for Reserves!

Um, it's not that big of a deal. First of all, there is cover, so 50% of the time you blew your sacrifice on a disruption. Secondly, that's a ton of stuff to kill one pnzrgd, isnt it?

Yeah, I don't see ammo dumps being that good. You can almost always avoid exchanging fire with the enemy by manuevering behind LOS. Just wait to engage the enemy until after the ammo dump is destroyed. Heck, all you have to do is SHOOT at it and it can be killed.

The ammo dump would be neat if you could pop it on in the middle of the battle, like it was "hidden", but once accessed it was able to be attacked.

Call it a lost interrupt or a sorcery. It's a one time shot in the arm, but worth it once per game, you know?
