what is your funniest or best moment while playing this great game?
this moment doesn't have to actually be a moment in a game,
but it has to be while you were playing the game
hopefully you understood me there lol
i'll go first to show you an example just incase you didn't understand me
of which i wouldn't blame you :D
my funniest moment:
my best moment while playing this game was when i was just a newbie(no
more than 3 weeks of starting to play this game)
i had a friend who was an foreign exchange student from germany, her name
was Angela Ronge, she was a cool person, and i am proud i got to know her
i brough two maps and several units, from the US and Germany, especially
since i had nothing to do that day at school, other than attending
during my first study hall class, i took out the maps and the units, me and her
started playing the game, she liked it, so we played several games, of which
i won only about half the games, while it was her turn, i took out a certain
book, of which is illegal in germany, atleast according to her, i can't say
if that is true with 100% confirmation, at the moment i didn't know that, and
since it was in the school library i picked it up, i took the book out in front of her
and she asked me what that book was, when i showed her the book, her face
was just priceless, she took the book and hid it under the desk thinking
it was also illegal here, and she started shaking, it took me several minutes
to convince her that the book wasn't illegal here, i even had to involve a
teacher in order to calm he down
although i will admit, i got a little worried at that moment and it wasn't funny,
but now everytime i remember it, i start laughing laughing
so what is your best or funniest moment while playing this great game?
p.s.-->the book is Mein Kampf

It is actually illegal in Austria (and Germany AFAIK), but her reaction was a bit... let me say overreacting ;)
Funniest moment?? In game maybe when I made my setup, put the Croc on the Table and said: ready - your turn! Priceless the weird look I got from my opponent.
During game?? not sure...

maybe i also should have added that the teacher was, how can you say this
without offending anyone............kinda Racist???? he didn't like me or her,
especially her(he thinks every german is a nazi)
and the teacher i brought in was my favorite teacher, his class was next door
but still it was overreacting lol ;)

Funniest time is when Mu11et and I were just noobs. First D-day booster and he got a Hawker typhoon. Now I had a nashorn that would blast the hell out of things, and then he snickered and said his solution. Then he put the hawker behind my nashorn and I panicked. Then he did Rockets 8! And got 1 success!!
Another time when tragic came down, he did a tetrarch swarm around my 3 vet tigers. jagdtiger, and SSPanzer IV.

i didnt ever use rockets on your nashorn, i just got one success.
however, i used rockets 8 against a imperial sgt or something and got ZERO successes.
damn those threes...

I’m not sure but I think Mein Kampf is illegal in most of European countries

My funniest moment in AAM came when I...
First: Killing 8 units out of 12 on turn 2. Rolls from Heaven. Game over end of turn 2 (no one shot at each other on turn 1).
Second: When my opponent rolled his tank (IS-2) in and I rolled 7 successes on Close assault 7 to disrupt it. Next turn it was dead. I think that was the last time it was played.
Lastly, most fun was dropping 2 SS-PG's with two Soviet Fantical Sniper being motivated by a Commisar. Same turn the motivated ZIS gun damaged my opponent's light SS tank.

One night, my friends were messing with me by calling me a 'barmaid,' for every time I got up, someone asked me to fetch something to drink.

Last turn of a 300 point game, I lost my entire army against a horde of British. The only roll I made that round, with a SS-Hauptstrumfuhrer, I rolled 6 successes against a Vickers Machine-Gun Team. The opponent just let me have the kill out of pity.
I've shot down Superior Armor Planes with my Grizzled Veterans.
One time, I rolled 15 Successes against an uber tank. With the same Grizzled Veteran.

Heres one I'm not to proud of. My friend and I were doing a historical League. It was the French vs the Germans. I was playing the Germans. We were doing an assault mission, and I had a slight advantage. He however ended up winning. (Keep in mind this was before the current french movement). We upped my points, he still won. It was riduclious. It finally took more than a two to one odds for me to win. It had nothing to do with my ability as a player, just dumb luck. He never missed a cover save the entire game. And the renaults took out so many things, he almost never missed a shot.

my saddest moment was last weekend. I was playing 200 pts German vs. Russian army and I had a veteran infantry that was failed movement rolls over a stream for 4 turns i think. He was just stuck on the banks of the stream, after failing 2 attempts (move+assualt) per turn for 4 turns. Finally, he made it across, but the game was already decided in my favor.

We were playing a "random army" battle kind of like in Shadowhooch's "Axis & Allies -- The Battle" thread. On Turn 7, only his Tiger I was in a position to contest the objective (only a Tiger I!). While I had other units on/near the objective (a Gurkha Rifleman and a damaged M3 Stuart), the only hope I had to take the monster out was with my M4A1 Sherman and/or a ZIS-2. I managed to get my Sherman right behind the Tiger, expecting the Sherman to go out in a blaze of glory. He rolled first, and the Tiger rolled nothing higher than a 2! The Sherman rolled something like 10 successes, and the Tiger rolled another 2 on his cover roll. The ZIS-2 added another 9 successes, and the Tiger rolled a 1 on his cover roll.
Someone needs new dice, I think.... :D

When planes were first introduced, my friend and I were hesitant to use them, as we imagined they would be unrealistic and unbalanced. Soon after his first plane hit the board, I took it down with my sniper. Yeah, something needs to change here!

My favorite moment was when I took out two Churchill Crocodiles with three elite panzer IVDs because my friend hadn't noticed the crack shot SA, and assumed they posed no realistic threat based on their AV stats alone.
Incidentally, if people react strongly to a joke involving Mein Kampf, you can hardly blame them or consider them to have overreacted.

Funniest moment:
I don't know about you guys, but when my friend and I play, we are usually so intent on thinking about the next move, that both players are silently glaring at the board with our brains cranking at full speed.
Well, the wife comes downstairs because me and my friend were so quiet. And she asks, "Ummmmm.....are you guys having fun????"
We replied, "Oh yeah! We're have a blast. This is great!"
She countered, "Really? I've never associated fun with 2 people not talking and staring at a table."
Hmmmm.....I'm sure it does look pretty painstakingly boring from an "outsider" to strategy board games eh? I've never looked at it from an outside point of view. But she's right! From a distance, it DOES appear extremely boring and it doesn't APPEAR like we are having fun.
Little does she know, the fun is on the inside (like an M&M). But I can't help but laughing as we are playing now - imagining what it must look like (silently moving small pieces of plastic an inch at a time). :D

Once my airplane, I guess it was an IL-2, was shot at by lots of Infantry, Machine Guns... lots of stuff. It survived. What it didn't survive: An Oberleutnant, lifting his Panzerfaust into the Sky and blasting the aircraft straight into hell.
Wasn't MY funniest moment - I was in shock - but for sure the funniest moment of the friend i was playing with.

My friend dared insult the Renault. We played 1vs1 anything goes.
His built- Vet, Hamster and a couple of Kar's
My build- 10 Reanults 3 MAS, 1 anti-tank trap
My Renaults swarmed his Vet
I won by eliminating his whole team.

My funniest moment was probably when I was playing my son...
He saw my Oberlt. as no realy threat to his Sherman DD, espcially at a range of 4 and rolled on past it. I hit and disrupted it (rear armor) and then the following turn managed to destroy it!
He found it pretty funny, too. :D

Funniest as in pull my own leg off and beat myself to death with it funny? Probably having 2 m1 Garands, 2 Marines, and 3 Buffalo Soldiers all attack a single def 4 German inf unit and FAIL TO SCORE A SINGLE HIT. At range 1 except for 1 Buff Sold who was at range 2. I was thinking if they miss that bad should I have to roll and see if they actually shot each other? That's not friendly fire, that's stupid fire.
Funniest haha moment was playing against a person who put a British Hero in an army with no British troops in it to spawn from. He ended up using it as a worry bead, rubbing it over and over while watching me club his American army to pieces. I laughed and, eventually, so did he.

I once played a game where me and my opponent made 14 cover rolls in a row. I think that only 1 piece got destroyed during the entire game. It was spooky.

Just after I got my sIG 33 from a trade, I immediately played a game with my dad to check it out. Somehow my dad didn't realise it was great against infantry, and rolled it straight into my Sherman's behind and TOOK IT OUT WITH A SINGLE SHOT!

I'm not sure what mine was but I did have an awsome battle that I was forced to surrender on. It was an assault game. I believe I had about 200 pts on the defense and was holding two mountain areas 6 hill hexes each. I was able to destroy an infantry force 2 times as big as mine and an armor force 3-4 times as big as mine. But in the end I had 2 SS-PG left facing an IS-2. He had slightly better chances than me but his rolling was horrid and I would of needed perfect rolls to do some real damage. I ended up surrendering after a turn of attempted CA's. I love the games when most of your enemies pieces are destroyed.

A strange moment with the game was when I bought 2 Set1 boosters. In the first I picked up a Pz II which I traded with a Panther, my first,(you may think that it was an unfair trade but I only play published scenarios as my friend who traded it with). In the second booster I got my 1st King Tiger. The thing is that after nearly 25+ Set1 boosters and 2 New Starter Packs I still haven't a single damn Pz II (although I have 3 KTs, 4 Tiger Is, 2 Panthers and recently I picked my 1st E8)!!!!!!
A funny mooment was when a single Mauser made 5+ cover rolls in a single turn. That made my opponent mad and the Mauser a corporal.
Another funny moment was when I attacked a T-34/85 with a Flamingo at short range. My attack failed while the T-34/85's attack damaged me!!!!! Next turn full with confidence the T-34 missed and I gleefully made it BBQ he he !!!
A bad moment was when I played the Pegasus Bridge scenario. Two Brit paras were in the objective hex on the bridge. I fired at them with 2 sIGs, 2 Pz IIIs, 1 Pz IVD, 2 250s and even a couple of Mauser's all at Medium range. The result? EVERYBODY missed!!!!!!

One that happend a couple nights ago was during a beach invasion on the CZ beachhead map.
My opponent had surrounded a SB-MG team in a pillbox. By surround I mean that each hex around it had 2 units in it. All of various types but the strongest were the Paras. I held out in that hex for 2 turns against those odds and was able to tie up a third of his forces and win the game by holding the 3-hex town.
Also, the W.O.LT was my commander in that game and well worth the points. He helped my vets take out a SE-Para and damage an AVRE that got to close. If it would have gotten any closer my Panzerfaust, last ditch weapon, would have dealt the final blow.
My Zero was shot down by a Bazooka. Yep that's right, a bazooka.

I use the bridge on the Pegasus maps for my Amtrak's 'secret ability,' as my friend calls it. I move the Amtrak along the bridge, then send it into the water while it's halfway across, to make way for the tanks. While this doesn't sound too weird in a game, think about it in real life. The 'Trak driver turns to the right, sends the 'Trak flying through the steel girders & lands in the river about 50 ft. below. All without killing itself or its occupents.
