SO how do you start with the optional rules?
DO you get to pick one, or (since there is six) do you roll the dice to see what one you get?
Cuz I gotta tell ya, USA with no AA and able to roll JUST for HB, scary scary scary...

D0 you get to pick one, or (since there is six) do you roll the dice to see what one you get? Both are listed in the rules as being allowable. You should decide this at the same time you decide on the win condition.

Yes superfortresses are nasty!!! What we do is we roll number of dice equal to bombers as in a regular AA attack....a '1' is rolled then you would have to reroll to see if a '1' is rolled again becoming a hit and resulting in a downed bomber!
[note]: this is a house rule we agreed upon...it worked out pretty good in our first game! It just makes it 'nearly' impossible but yet attainable to shoot an USA bomber down rather than making it totally immpossible! (nothing is immpossible)-the downed plane can be a result of bad weather, poor navigating, etc. resulting in a superfortress to drift closer to AA fire and getting hit by a 'lucky' AA shot. ;)

Unless AH brings back fighter escorts/intercepts on SBR, then i think nick's house rule will become very popular.
Personally, I'd still prefer the AAE/AAP SBR rules.

You can choose any Advantages before you start...or you can randomly roll for it. What we like to do and more exciting and strategic is we just use ALL OF THEM- lol!
I even made a mini chart for each Power to show what their 'special' abilities do and to help keep track of what advantages are left (some advantages are used once per game!)
