Hello,

when a sub attacks another sub how is this handeld with the opening fire? Normally defending subs have also opening fire, but if the the attacking sub makes a hit in the opening-fire phase, there is no sub there to shoot back!

"Both attacking and defending submarines fire in this step. If submarines are present on both sides, they are considered to fire simultaneously." - page 15 under "Submarines"

Yeah, subs don't get first strike against each other, good deal.

Anyone who has ever played Shogun/Samuri Swords won't have a problem understanding this rule (range strike units phase -- remove casulaties, followed by melee phase -- remove casulaties)
