Let's say that the 2 northern-most American hexes are routed on Turn 1. Sine Tanks have unlimited movement along roads, could any German Tanks in theory move to ANY hexes on the WHOLE board during Movement (assuming all ZOC rules were followed).

I realize that moving them this far ahead of support and supply would be tricky but COULD it be done?

Also, there is a rule somewhere about having to end movement in enemy-controlled Cities - are all of the cities west of the German lines considered Allied-controlled at the beginning of the game? Any clarification of this rule is greatly appreciated.

Sorry to be such a newb but I have not played yet (except in my mind).

Hello, Steve!

Enemy-controlled cities are simply those cities that are on the other side of the front lines. So, your tanks could only move on the road through a breach until they hit one of those or an enemy zone of control. They could also move one more hex beyond that if they pay for a blitz move.

Thanks!

Time to check out the local road system and see just where that batch of Panzers can do the most damage!

I just might set that game up tonight instead of waiting for the weekend!

While you can thrust your German tanks deep into enemy territory on Turn 1, as long as they follow rules for 1) entering a city on the enemy side of the front line and 2) zone of control, it isn't a wise move.

First, they won't be able to attack or move without supply tokens.

Second, if you send your trucks with supply tokens down the same path to supply those tanks, you stand the chance of losing them because the Allies reinforce pretty heavily on their Turn 1.

The Axis can't afford to lose trucks.
