View Full Version : Weekend Updates? (and assorted misc)
WotC Bob

This weekend (December 2nd & 3rd) I will be in the office providing updates for the Dreamblade 10K. Why should any of you care when I work?
Well, there's significant down time between updates. So I will be pushing out another set of D-Day scenarios revised for stock maps tomorrow. I will also be doing work trying to finish the beta for the close up Arnhem maps.
Other things that are going on behind the scenes that you cannot see. We are still doing our re-design of the AH/AAM site. There will just be one site with much less confusion.
I believe I figured out why many of the custom maps are out of scale with the normal maps (even though I'm using the same files).
I will be putting out .pdfs of the Combat Zone hex tiles that haven't been put online yet (ruins and trenches I believe).
Like last year there will be a big Christmas scenario set on the site.
War at Sea previews probably won't start until the beginning of February.
Working on getting you guys more content then scenarios and previews (and even the previews will be getting an upgrade). (:

Bob....thanks for all you do to make the game a great one! But take a little down time this weekend :-) You deserve some relaxation, and may need to get a little Christmas shopping done too!

Hey Bob,
Any word on who won the AAM tournament map scenario?????? It has been several months since the contest closed.
My submission was entitled "Island Fortress Betio". The subject was the Marine invasion of Tarawa Atoll in Nov. 1943. Has this contest been shelved or will we actually see someone win the prize???
Please give us an update even if you have to say that other things have a higher priority and this has been postponed. Any information is better than nothing.

I've noticed D-Day updated but nothing on the other stuff.
Heh heh I think Bob was distracted by his WaS minis...

Thanks for all the info all of a sudden, it's always nice to know what's going on. I must say, though, it feels like WaS gets further away every time somebody from WotC mentions a date or time-frame related to it. We got the quickstart rules out of nowhere something like 5 months before the game was reportedly due to be out, and now we get no further information until a month before release? That puts almost a 4 month gap between Opening Salvo 1 and 2. I haven't been on the boards long enough to know how 'normal' this is, but it definately seems like the next few months will be tough for WaS fans. I honestly expected more information to be forthcoming in the near future, if not much. But enough complaints. It's good to see you alive and providing much-wanted information to the forum, Bob. Thanks again for the update.

Does this mean we will be getting correctly scaled versions soon? Having the Pegasus bridge and WXYZ maps not be compatible with any other map after a fairly expensive printout kinda blew :) (even though you can make some nice layouts combining those two sets).

Good work! Can you enlighten us as to what happened?
(and will there be any more new maps -- even if they are reverse images?)
I will be putting out .pdfs of the Combat Zone hex tiles that haven't been put online yet (ruins and trenches I believe). (:
Will they be multiple hex styles per sheet (like the first sheets), or a single type per sheet
Like last year there will be a big Christmas scenario set on the site.

Thanks....
It is appreciated

This is great news! Especcialy if this means there will be a guide as to print out each map (what size and such), or even better a fool-proof re-release :D
I've been resizing so much with photoshop and without satisfying results.. It's driving me insane...!

Saaaweeet! :D
