I have my Pearl Harbor shirt on today. From what I understand, most of those guys won't be here this time next year. They are getting up there in age and their health is declining. Sad. We should never, ever forget what that generation has contributed. Never.

I'm beating myself up today. I usually show the kids in my classroom a video about Pearl Harbor and then we have a discussion on what happened and the impact of it. Though today due to being in a rush to get on the road (white out snow conditions but no snow day, go figure) I left it at home. I hopefully will be able to do it off tomorrow.
I visited Pearl Harbor last year. Its a very moving experience. Every American should visit this memorial in my opinion.

Yes I DO remember the significance of the date in History. But I have a family reason. My father's cousin (my 2nd cousin) is "still serving aboard" the USS Arizona. His name is one of those on the wall of the memorial.
Who was it said something like "Those who fail to remember the past are doomed to repeat it"? Never forget!

Any person who puts the welfare of others before his own has my undying respect.
The job the Armed Forces do is dangerous, hard, underpaid, and under-respected. The very least we can do is remember what they did for us.
