Are we going to see new maps? I really really like the scinerios, and I notice they are redoing some of them so they fit with current maps. Well I won't even bother playing a game if my higgins boats are travelling along grass.

even the japanese ones where most are jungle squares I won't play. I like to see those jungles not just "pretend" they are there.

I recently got some prize support from a AAM kit. and I have to say they stink. the guy wasn't even a repaint.

Why not step up the kits and release a new map each month.

I would love to see new maps released. even if they did them like fantastic locations.

spending to much money on dreamblade and not enough on AAM and DDM

Dont "hold your breath" on this one! WOTC has a long history of not listing to its consumer base. I have played D&D for years and that game is flooded with complaints they do little about. As a matter of fact I just sold-off all my D&D books after some 20 years of playing. I am just simply feed up with the cost and time of the game.

ya I know, I went through the same thing with Chainmail.

oh well such a good game, with no maps.

is there a program or some kinda template for making these scinarios and maps? and least then I could make my own and maybe take the maps to staples to print it.

This appears to be a frequent demand these days - but don't expect anything. I'm pretty sure that all of WotC's efforts are focused on the upcoming W.a.S. and the new new Star Wars Fleet Battles games these days, among others. If you search through past threads you will find many other alternatives for new maps that others have already suggested. :)

The #1 request is always maps. Yet we get announcements of "fan requested favorites like the Jagdtiger". Huh?

The #1 fan requested pieces ARE the maps. Atleast the gave us A3/4 and B3/4 although they were printed on some really cheapass paper.

Two words - Dream on.

Don't forget about:

Not happening
No way
Fat chance
Get real
Hell no

Just to name a few more two word combos.

Yeah, they gave us 2 new maps...but NO new official map Configurations to use them.

I guess I'm just extremely uncreative and reluctant to create my own map configs. But they really need to provide the configs so everyone is talking the same "language" and playing the same game.

Also, Official configs/rules for higher than 100 point games would be nice too. What percentage of players now prefer larger than 100 point games? I think it is very significant.

Scenarios are great "support" for the game. I just think their resources would be better spent if they devoted that "Scenario" time to expanding the actual game with additional configs and 100+ rules. That's the kind of support that would make the game actually grow and expand - INFASTRUCTURE. Scenarios are interesting; but just a sidegame in my mind.

The process of making the maps I do requires several steps, and it is not just one template. I use three different programs to create them. From what WOTC Bob has said it sounds like most of what they do just involves Photoshop. HBFronts probably uses similar programs that I do.

It is a little time consuming to make sure that the configurations do not cause tactical imbalances. Given the cost of printing them and obtaining them it is best to create map combinations that allow many different potential playing areas - all of which pose unique tactical challenges.

Quality map work takes time to playtest as well. I would rather not release stuff that is half-ass.

well they make those silly tiles. how about make maps instead.

those tiles are ok for changing a few terrain, but even if you could gather enough of them to make entire new maps, it would take longer to set up, then it would to play. and if someone bumped the table goodbye tiles.

MAPS, MAPS, MAPS...is that to much to ask? i've been dealing with wizards for years now, you think I would learn...why do I bother?

i'm huge into DDM, i'm one of the biggest collecters on these boards. But I actually like the AAM better. I have all of both games but I would switch more to AAM if only they made more maps.

maybe i'll try the photo shop idea.
