I have a second edition rules for Axis & Allies Europe and it says that destroyers roll a 2 instead of a 3 for amphibious support shots.
I do not see this second edition posted to the official website nor is it mentioned in the FAQ's.
What is the current official rule for this?
And can the website be updated with the second edition rules.

The 2nd edition rules are the most current and the most official.

Most of the changes to the rulebook were cosmetic. Only two changes were made to the rules.

1) Destroyers in amphibious assaults support with a die roll of 2, not 3.

2) Under the terms of the Soviet Patriotic War rule, the Soviet player can take control only of US and British units that are in territories that also contain a Soviet industrial complex.

I thought both of these things were covered in the FAQ but on review I see that only the second one is mentioned, at the very bottom under the "Miscellaneous" heading. I'll fix that right now.

Where can I get a copy of the second edition rules?I have the first edition rules which have destroyers defending at a 3 and Russians can claim any Allied unit in their territory(Red or Purple).

That's a good question. I'd love to get a copy so that we could update the downloadable rulebook on the website but no one around here seems to have one. SVGames.com (http://www.svgames.com/parts-axiseurope.html) lists an A&A:E rulebook for $2.99. That's probably 2nd edition but I make no guarantees as we have no connection to SVGames. Contact them directly for full details.

Steve,

I have the official Avalon Hill one page Second Edition pdf file if you want it. I got it a long time ago before AH was transitioned to WoTC.
You can email me at maxvertigo@yahoo.com.
Or if you'd rather I could probably post it on my website at www.Axisdomain.0catch.com (http://www.axisdomain.0catch.com)

that page is now also available on the Avalhon Hill website. You can find it by using the Archive link on your left.

I'll gladly admit that this is mainly a theoretical question, but is it also possible for the soviets to gain control of alied naval units?

If I read the rules correctly, it says that a unit should be /on/ a territory with an industrial complex, so it shouldn't be possible to do this. Is that correct?

It might even be nice to actually be able to do this, in some rare occassions.
