As I've not really played a lot with Russia and some other minor country like Romania and now Hungary, I decided to prepare a large game of 600pts Russia vs Germany, Romania & my 2 Hungary's unit. As I have never done a very large game, I'm not sure what would be the best map size (2x3, 3x3 or more) for a game like that.

1 Ammo dump
--- I don't know when I'll do this, but I will try it once (against myself as I'm live far from everything) before the end of this year. I think it's the best I can do with the units that I own, but I will appreciate any tips or suggestions especially for the map size as I've mostly played 100pts games at this moment.

I play this game at 600 points consistently and I've discovered that the best map size for this kind of game is 4x2. This will give a good variety of situations to worry about.

Thanks Malcolm, I'll try it 4x2 with 2 dice for choosing the maps configuration. It seems like they all can be connected to each other (by the roads).
Polish Horsy I want to play it with the pieces that I have, so if I buy another booster that has an ammo dump I would try it with one more. I think it would be better if I had an ammo dump for the Russian and another Headquarters for Germany, however, it is not all General that had the troops that they wanted, so that's why I like the idea of playing with the units that I own.

I never played over 600pt games. I suggest a BIG map. 4x4.

there is no need for 4x4. 4 maps long-side is rediculously big. infantry getting to the objective would require a 12-turn 18 hour game.
I think 4x2 is fine and 4x3 is more than deep enough.

When I play big games there usually not objective based. Also this way transport units are ACTUALLY needed to get your troops up to the front line.

Yup, I also think that 4x2 is fine for a 600pt game.... for using a 4x4 maps we would need a low cost transport... like a generic truck without any attack but with transport and an high gear SA for 6points.. it would be good for this game, and the german could also get the kubelwagen as their jeep for 4 points.

4x3 or 4x4 work well if you play a variant with a defender besieged on two sides, or an all-tank battle. With your pieces, you could re-enact any number of siege or cauldron battles!

A 3x3 map works well too. It is very large but also very well situated.
You could put Germans in the middle surrounded by Russians or something like that. Have the Germans have to defend a position on the middle of a 4x2 map. Dang, now I want to do a game like that!

Yup, it could be a very interesting game, like germany have defender units like sandbagged MG & Fortress Defender, they could be with other units the protection for the support in the middle of the map, while the other units are hunting the oppenent's plastic. Maybe another time, so I'll try a 3 objectives game (2 from the map and the enemy support) and testing my beasts (KT vs IS-3) with my other tanks. It should be my best game at this moment. ;)
