I will soon be playing Axis and Allies Europe as the Germans. My group will be playing where Germany plays on 1 board while the Allies play on another. We can never see the opponet unless you get attacked. Does anyone know an effective strategy I could use?
Thank You

-There will be a ref so i could not cheat
-you can only see into an enemy teritory if you have units next to it
-you can purchase intellegene to see into any enemy territory for 3 ipcs (must roll a 2 or less)
-planes can do reconnisance missions and are subject to Anti Aircraft Fire
-ships can not see onto land nor can land units see naval units

Assume the Allies will attack convoys and the coastlines. Abandon most coastlines since you will not be able to see the attack coming, leave minimal troops along coastlines, and instead fortify "inner Europe" territories like Eastern France, Germany and Northern Italy. This will give you two advantages: #1) Newly built infantry and stock units will protect major production centers. #2) You will have ready reserves with which to beat back any Allied invasion into the sea.

On the Eastern Front, assume the Soviet player is intelligent and cautious, making the absolute most of his IPC gains each turn. Be aware that he may attempt "spoiling" attacks against the Finland-Norway or Rumania-Hungary axis, but these should not dissuade you from pursuing an all-out assault. In fact it should encourage you because he is diverting precious infantry and/or armor from more defensible routes.

I highly advise putting two of his production centers at risk using either Turn 0 enforcement in Finland to attack Leningrad and Moscow or a massive armor/infantry thrust towards Stalingrad and Moscow (remember whichever you choose it will be supplemented by your income each turn, and so the strength of your drive WILL grow). You should know how to effectively pin the Russian so that he cannot enforce one area without decreasing the strength of the other. Probably, he will reinforce Moscow (since he will not know the threat level, he can only assume worst-case scenario), at which point you should go for the kill as quickly as possible, since further delay will only help the western Allies. Belorussia will prove a critical point, so I advise threatening it heavily. Since you won't be able to see what's in it, go around with armor if you can and take out Moscow!

Above all, don't get caught feeling your enemy out with anything more than inexpensive hit-takers. Intelligence, while important, will be more important to the Russians that to you since your huge stack of armor and infantry will most likely outnumber them, and there are only a few obvious points of concentration in the Soviet Union. Be bold and have the courage to attack! As long as your plans are sound you should be able to execute them even without knowledge of enemy positions, since it's obvious that they will group in Belorussia or heavy supply centers. If they do not, you will simply overrun them anyway.

On a final note, this sounds like a very cool idea. Where did you guys come up with this?

Well basicly i came up with the idea to try a game like that a other people just started adding rules until we found a rule set that worked well.

We have already done it with Original Axis and Allies and Pacific

The Pacific game turned out to be very fun as I (as the USA) was able to invade Japan.

Well the game is finished and I won just in case anyone cares to know. I was able to take over Moscow with the end result leaving me with one tank.

Well here is what I remember

I was able to easily conquer the middle east because the foolish british player pulled a bunch of his units out tring to take greece.

By a stroke of luck one turn 3, I was able to take Moscow early in the game I had one tank in the Baltic States (I think) and when my turn can around i was able to see that Lennigrad had 8 infantry and belorussia had nothing. So I took that tank and my bomber into Moscow reveliving what I had suspected, it was completly empty. However my bomber was shot down but just a minor loss when you have 60+ ipc coming in.

The russians took back Moscow the next turn but I already had an early advantage.

I had no idea what the british where doing but they really never got on there feet.

America gave me a few problems in France during my temperary leave of absence as my replacment purchased all tanks and sent them to terrorize France give Russia a sort of free turn to remoblize.

However when I cameback, I once agian revived the onslaught on Russia. It all came down to a bloody battle at Mosow where I throught everything I had into taking it. It came down to one Panzer against one T-34. I roled a two and the Soviets rolled a three. I won.

I you have any more questions I would be happy to answer them (or atleast try).

Also GrOGnads I don't think there will ever be another game because I can never get enough people to all focus on Axis and Allies and we all parted ways now that schools out.

However I would encourage anyone to ty it.
