Which army is the most fun to play and which is the least? And why?

I would say the most fun is probably the italians followed by the russians. The italians because they are such underdogs but pre 1941 they can be pretty competative, The russian because they have great armour.

The least is probably the Chinese because every unit has problems. They would be folowed closely by the Japanese because they also have a bunch of really bad units.

Totally Agreed!!!
The most fun are the Italians. They are also competitive (till 42), is a special army cause any victory it is due, for a good part , at the tactics that you decide. But perhaps I am too much of part :D

I never thought Chinese were least fun, just the most challenging. I beat the Japanese w/ them. It can be done.

Most fun? Yikes! Tough call. Anything w/ paratroopers. Haven't had enough playtime w/ the Fallschirmjagers. Brit paras w/ hero combo is awesome, esp. w/ Tetrarchs and Typhoons, but that's larger games.

Frankly I'd tie any three for now w/ paras. Actually, I think I might even lean towards the Germans because you can add the werewolves.

I'll go w/ that rifled ambiguity.

I like france! With their power that can crush early-war germany. It makes me laugh. That and the Renault rush

The Russians I don't know why but they're just more fun to play

I like playing the French because it's so satisfying to beat the Germans with them. I also enjoy playing N. Africa Germans/Italians and Commonwealth.

I love playing with the Germans. But not the power pieces. I love using the underdawg pieces to their utmost power. I've been able to win a couple of games using Volksturms as my primary infantry. I also like playing as the Italians because they can be competative even up to the later parts of the war. You just have to use lots and lots of skill.

I also love playing as the Russians because of the T-34 and their infantry.

So:
Germans
Italians
Russians

1. Canada (best commander and hero)
2. Russia (Tanks Duh)
3. USA/UK/Germany (Lots to choose from)
4. France/Poland (For Variety)
5. Romania/Italy/Hungary (All add a Little Flavor)
6. Japan (Lack of Good Tanks Bores Me)
7. China (Never even fielded these)

I like playing the UK/Commonwealth forces. A good variety of abilities are available. Competetive with most builds.

I like German and Russia for late war scenarios. For early war, Italy and France. And well, Hungary is a great challeng to play against Russia in 1943, but is great.

I enjoy playing the UK/Commonwealth build and the German/Italy build. Plenty of pieces to choose from so you can field different kinds of armies each battle.

Back when I was playing consistantly, I favored the Russians, but not really for their armor. To me, nothing topped a 3-point CA:8 Infantry unit that could potentially get +1 per die due to a nearby Commisar.

The Russians are the ultimate practitioners of the adage 'waste not, want not'. Stock up on units like SMGs and Mosins and add a few Commisars. If the enemy is armor heavy, use the SMGs as 'food' to feed the Commisars and let the Mosins annihilate enemy armor (even a 6 rear defense tank is hit almost half the time by this combo). On the other hand, if the enemy is heavy on infantry (particular Elites), eat the Mosins and let the SMGs do the work (10 dice at +1 has better than even money to outright kill even the toughest infantry in the game).

And the best part about those units is that they are dirt cheap. That lets you approach the 15 unit limit pretty quickly (standard games) and still have plenty of points left over for some solid armor or air support.

It's a toss up between Russia and Germany- for the tanks!

I like playing either Russian or American. I enjoy playing against the German army when my opponent is playing a historical build. What I don't like is playing against an opponent who uses cheesy power builds. These kind of games lacks any type of strategy other than a bum rush to take the objective or elimeate the opponent and the German faction has the most potential for being abused.

I like the Brits as They have some of the nicest units without being TOO overpowered. And Sometimes the Russians.

I absolutely hate the US thats why I try to get as much as possible Rhinos ;)

The best game I have played, was an Hungary vs USSR 1943, without German soupport. I lost, but, I managed to destroy a Su-85 an two Su-76 and some infantry, loosing everything in the battle. I really like the underarmored Hungarian forces, they are pretty funny.

The Russian player was playing with, 8 Mosin Nagant, 2 Commisar , two SU-76 and a Su-85. I was Playing with 6 Turan 1, 3 AT gun, 5 Huzagol and 1 commander.

I have a US Bias but I also enjoy the variety from the German Army.

The game has a U.S. bias too. I play U.S. the most followed by Germany and Russia. The armies I enjoy most, however, are combined allied forces. Paras and Heros are fun, especially the U.S. Hero, as he seems to kill more with the shemans guns than the shermans do :D

I like playing the Germans. With elite infantry and paras along with great tanks you can just rampage over most enemies.
If I have only a few minutes to build an army I generally want to play the US. It's so easy to build effective armies whose CAs work well together with them. But given a choice I like the overwhelming presence that comes with the German war machine.
