Just thought I'd let you all know I am publishing a monthly newsletter for AAM. It is available in PDF format at the address listed below (in my signature). It's only a couple of pages now but I plan on expanding it soon. If you'd like to submit an article or picture then email them to me at general_blitzkrieg_aam@yahoo.com, especially if you have repaints/mods. Hope you all enjoy! Let me know what you think.

It's impossible to give comments or suggestions without having read it, but I can give a few tips:

-- make sure your newsletter brings something different than the existing (and very popular) one from HBF;

-- make your newsletter availabe on a regular website, or e-mail it (I'm sure I'm not the only one hating to have to create an account to access stuff, especially at yahoo);

If you offer scenarios, make sure that they are "user friendly". Some of the guys on here don't have alot of pieces in their collections and some don't print out the free online maps. Just a thought to help you be sucessful with your e-zine.

Well, I read through the first issue.

Praise: Short, but it has promise! I like anything that I can read and add to my overall AAM gaming experience. My 13yo son's the same way. Keep up the good work! I look forward to expanded issues in the future.

I glanced at the downloadable secnarios. I'm glad you give both the option for 3D gaming layout as well as AAM map configuations in the one secnario. Someday we'll get around to coverting battles to a 3D layout, but for the time being, we still use the maps.

Critique: I'm just not that keen on "old fashioned typewriter" font.

Thanks! :)

Would you like a place in addition to yahoo to post you PDFs?

Like www.axisandallies.org?

I think that is a great idea. I know I would rather go there then another yahoo group.

Just read it. I like it, it has a nice touch. Short but to the point articles that say what they want without alot of elaboration. I like to font too (I see some don't), it gives it a "real" feel. Thanks for your efforts to put out a good zine. can't wait for next month.

Yeah, I want it to be available as much as possible so if you can post it there that would be great....the group is really there to make the scenarios (and soon printable terrain) available. Just let me know what I need to do.

Im hoping to add a lot more content to next months additions so if there is something you all would like to see let me know. Feel free to post the PDF's on any AAM site you run to make them available to all.

My scenarios are generally 3D based with hex maps but can be adopted for the current maps...I do include alternate maps for some but not all are able to be done on standard maps...I may however start making some just for standard maps if there is a great demand. Also, you can use whatever pieces you want if you don't have the suggested units. Just use something similar. Thats the great thing about scenarios...they can be adapted to whatever you want them to be.

On the group, there are pictures of your board/map. How did you do it? Did you draw the hexes yourself? What about the structures and trees and hills?

Just send me an email with the file, a quick blurb for the site, and a username you want it listed under. You've got a PM with my email.

Thats an old MageKnight mat that I drew hexes on with red permanent marker (which turned brown on the green). I made the trees by twisting telephone cable wires and placing them on a base of Pirates coins (good game too....too bad it sunk) and adding bushes from model train terrain I bought at the hobby store. The structures are printed on cardstock and I will have them on the group for download as soon as I compile them all into one PDF.
