With the discussion of planes, let's start a detailed discussion. Specifically, by nation, which planes do you want to see. I'm going to list the more poplular aircraft for each nation that has yet to appear in this game. Of course, you can offer other considerations.

Navy Zero fighter.
1- The paint scheme is WAY cooler
2- We could perhaps have a 4/4 def early war plane, to better reflect the experience of navy pilots, who actually DID dogfight with US/UK airforces, and came out on top! Now try to do that with the current Zero...

The naval used the Zero exclusively. Not the army. Actually, the Zero first saw service in 1941 and the stat card shows 1939. That's when the navy used the Claude. An early war Japanese army airplane would've been the Nate that was later replaced by the Oscar.
All in all, I'm all for a Val or a Kate for the Japanese. They really need some kind of "ground attack" aircraft. By my guess, these were the few "iconic" single engine airplanes that the Japanese used for ground attacks.

I'd like to see one of the IJArmy's twin engined bombers for a ground attack aircraft like the Sally or Peggy.

Voted for the "Val". I'd like both the Val and the Kate.
I like both Nakajima planes.
Japan needs both.
The Hayabusa was the most advanced japanese fighter at the start of WWII.
The Hayate was one of the best japanese plane at the end of the war.

My personal choice would be for the Frank. Though we already have the Shiden-kai, the Frank would be as tough a fighter as any out there for this game. Parity is something the Japanese are desperate to have.
My only knock on the bombers (from all countries...this includes the Stukas, Vals, Judys, Dauntless and Helldivers) is that their effectiveness is good only for 1 attack. A brutal attack, but still just 1. I'm just not a fan of single-use things.

I voted for other. Choose the best plane for this category.
I'm thinking more along the lines of a "kamakazi" plane...
Kamakazi - Sacrifice unit. Short range attack ignores cover.
Roll 3 sixes and target unit is immediately destroyed
and removed from the game.

I totally agree with the Navy Zero fighter. Me likes the regular white with red circles on the wing Zero. The one they released for Contested Skies looks like crap. Aside from that, I would really like to see a "Val" dive bomber. The Japs need some serious tank busters. Their tanks can barely do it, so at least give them a plane that can possibly do it.

If the Val is the ground attack plane then I voted for it.

The Frank. Later in the war, it was probably the only Japanese plane that the Americans ever worried about.
